Just heard about this today...

http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/8287043/detail.html

I've known Louie since I was 14. He and his wife were the cutest, nicest, most loveable town members that you could ever imagine. They attended all of the town functions, frequented all of the local establishments, and were just really great people. Louie would come in and tap dance at the Lariat Saloon, even at the ripe old age of 92.

Unfortunately, his wonderful lifelong partner and wife passed away about a year and a half ago. This man has kept the best attitude one can have since that unfortunate time...being a continually active member of the town and friend to all.

He's a tough cookie. About a buck twenty, five foot nothing, he was attacked by an 800 pound wild animal and survived. After talking with some friends up in the county, they said it wasn't looking too good, but after reading this article it looks like he's moved from critical to serious condition.

Please, if ya'll don't mind, keep this kind and loving soul in your thoughts and prayers. Hopefully the next time you're up in G.L., you'll be able to cheer him on as he taps his way around the dance floor.

Read about him this am's paper. He did pass, I understand.

Strange that the moose was in town. He or another had been sighted there before, and a moose had attacked an older lady a couple of weeks ago near the same area. The moose that got Louie had suffered several broken ribs in the recent past, and I personaly believe he got moved out of his home area by another aggressive moose. Beware the abused moose!

Shades of Northern Lights, eh?

what he got killed by a moose? A 92 year old man got killed by a moose? I don't know if you gotta go out that is a hell of way if you ask me. No one should ever feel bad about a 92 year old person dying. They have lived long enough. And quite frankly most of them are ready to go, life is too hard at age 92 to do things that made you happy.

You never fail to amaze me Gonzo...it could of just as been a girl playing on a swing or kickin the ball around outside.

We can't expidite a moose that has lost territory and attacked an old lady by fearing the tree lover/moose lovers? That's what the Game Warden is for. At 92 it couldn't of been fun for him.

The last of the greatest generation are leaving us. My vet that snipped and manicured Beezer was a MEDIC in WW2. He still works but is semi retired and was reccomended. He was really nice. Being a medic was almost worse than taking one for the team, and they often did treating the wounded. He's probably 90 now.

Classy or not, it's like any that has seen action. Some can talk, others simply can't are were forever traumatized. I'm always facinated if they give you the evil eye, but more are willing to talk. I'm not pushy.

At least he came home to a heros welcome. I don't blame Korean and Viet Vets being bitter. Remember that when our troops get home, win or lose.

Just wanted to say thanks for everyone who thought of, prayed for, or projected upon, the situation with my friend Louie.

He moved from critical to serious condition, but unfotunately that moose did a number on the frail little guy.

Basically, some head trauma caused brain damage, and he's not going to make it too much longer.

At his own request, he's being moved to a hospice for the remainder of his extra ordinary life, where he'll be with friends and family. He's in good spirits (as good as one can be in this situation), and should make a peaceful transition into the hereafter.

Just wanted to say thanks again to everyone, and rest in peace Louie.
