That Thanksgiving game has the potential to be a classic matchup. How are they going to broadcast those games? I would loathe missing the DEN/KC game for MIA/DET.
Also, I think that they could have chosen a little bit better lineup for opening weekend. What a snoozefest.

NFL announces five games featured on opening weekend, three games on Thanksgiving
(March 27, 2006) -- The NFL announced its 2006 Kickoff Weekend nationally televised schedule -- including a Monday night doubleheader -- and its Thanksgiving Day national TV tripleheader.
In a tradition instituted in 2004, the Super Bowl champion annually hosts the NFL Thursday night season kickoff the following year. This Sept. 7 at 8:30 p.m. ET, the Super Bowl XL champion Pittsburgh Steelers will oppose the Miami Dolphins as NBC rejoins the NFL's TV family for the first time since 1997. The game will feature a quarterback matchup of Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger and the Dolphins' Daunte Culpepper, acquired recently from Minnesota in a trade.
On Sunday, Sept. 10, the FOX national doubleheader game at 4:15 p.m. ET will feature the Dallas Cowboys at the Jacksonville Jaguars, who finished 12-4 and earned a playoff spot last season
The Sunday night primetime game (8:15 p.m. ET) on NBC can be called the "Manning Bowl" and it will be a history-maker. The AFC South champion Indianapolis Colts will visit the NFC East titlist New York Giants. It will be a matchup of quarterback brothers -- the Colts' 30-year-old Peyton Manning against his sibling, 25-year-old Eli Manning of the Giants. It will be the first time in NFL history that brothers will start at quarterback against each other.
Monday night, Sept. 11, will feature the first regularly scheduled Monday Night Football game on ESPN, and the first regularly scheduled Monday Night Football doubleheader. The first game (7 p.m. ET) will pit the Minnesota Vikings, under new head coach Brad Childress, at the Washington Redskins, an '05 Divisional Playoff team. The Monday night "nightcap" (10:15 p.m. ET) will be an AFC West meeting of the San Diego Chargers, directed by new starting quarterback Philip Rivers, at the Oakland Raiders, also led by a new coach, Pro Football Hall of Famer Art Shell.
On Sunday, Sept. 10, CBS, which has U.S. Open tennis in the late afternoon slot, will carry a lineup of early regional NFL games. CBS will televise the NFL national doubleheader late game in Week 2.
The NFL will kick off its new late-season primetime television package on NFL Network on Thanksgiving night, giving NFL fans three games on Thanksgiving Day for the first time.
The early game that day (CBS, 12:30 p.m. ET) will feature the Dolphins at the Detroit Lions, under new head coach Rod Marinelli. The second game (FOX, 4:15 p.m. ET) will send the NFC South champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers to Dallas to face the Cowboys.
The Thanksgiving package concludes at 8 p.m. ET on NFL Network when the top two teams in the AFC West last year meet. The Denver Broncos (13-3) will visit the Kansas City Chiefs (10-6).
The announcement of these national TV games was made March 27 by NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue at the NFL Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida.
The rest of the 2006 regular-season schedule will be finalized and announced in April.

I mean they have a new coach, aging offense, same defense I just think we will be the better team both time. dosn't matter if it's in turkey day or in december.

Alls I gotta say is DirecTv better switch the NFL network over to HD before this game airs! They have plenty of commercials saying they broadcast in HD, so DirectTv better step up! fricken NFL ticket probably will cost a small fortune again to get HD broadcasts too, like last year.

I'm pretty sure it said the Thanksgiving Day game was going to be on NFL network, which sucks, cause most large sports bars that can afford the NFL network will be closed on Thanksgiving, so unless you got some friends with it you could be screwed out of one Bronco game this year. I hope the NFL will allow a local network to carry the game like they do in preseason.

"After discussing this new package of games with many potential partners, we decided it would be best presented on our own, high-quality NFL Network, which has developed so rapidly that the time had come to add live regular-season games to the programming," Commissioner Tagliabue said. "In the end, we wanted these games on our network, which is devoted 24/7 to the sport of football, and not on a multi-sport network."
NFL Network will make all of its games available on free, over-the-air television in the participating team markets, continuing the NFL's long-standing practice of making all of its games, including the playoffs and Super Bowl, available on free, over-the-air television.
"The NFL has traditionally been at the forefront of innovation and new technology dating back to starting NFL Films in the ‘60s, and Pete Rozelle and Roone Arledge creating Monday Night Football in 1970," said Commissioner Tagliabue. "With NFL Network, we are creating a fresh, innovative programming package that will complement all of our television partners."

Well this sucks.
Not only does the local cable company not carry the NFL Network, but it looks as if I'm going to be stuck with east coast teams for MNF games as well.
Thanks a lot Tags, Boooooo.

This stinks. They schedule the Broncos and KC on Thanksgiving as the game on NFLN. What a screw job for Bronco and KC fans.
Kiss my ass Bowlen.

This will be our 3rd Turkey Day game in 6 years. Very nice. Only the PlowBoys and Lions get more love on that day... not even the Pats get it that good.
It does blow hardily that you have to have the NFL network, thou. My guess is they are banking on us to act like junkies and go get the service that gives us access to the NFL network.
We've gone 2 and 0 in the last couple of Turkey Day games... no reason not to make it 3 and 0, Baby!!!

that too. but it's not december. our "curse" is only in december. I like our chances for this game. I don't think it matter this season I think we sweep the cheifs. I mean they have a new coach, aging offense, same defense I just think we will be the better team both time. dosn't matter if it's in turkey day or in december.
Hilarious!

After all the hype about how unbeatable the Cheeps are in December, I think the Turkey Day game is great news. It can only make a great day better.
Agreed.

Christmas against the Raiders not this past year but the one before was great. I think this past CHargers game was on New Year's day...not a big deal but still fun.
