So i can't follow that hype of trading up for a socalled QBOF.

I think drafting an QB so high is stupid and a big risk if you're not really in a need for a new QB. And we're not having a big need. We have a solid QB.

The chances that a QBOF really pans out is really low. And the bust are very costly and doesnn't help for team further. Examples are enough around. Leaf, Akili smith,Rivers, Brooks,Griese,harrington,pennington... Which all got expensive contracts but didn't develop into that what they should.

The better solution is to see and wait if a QB plays well elsewhere and if he's a free agent you can pay him the money he deserves. and if he's not a FA then you can trade for him but you know what you will get!!!!

Better is to use the top picks for players who really could see playing time and show what impact they have on the team.

Just an opinion, but i really would be dissapointet if we trade up for drafting an QB. If one of those 4 QB falls through #15 i say ok , otherwise please pass.
:thanku:

Good QBs don't hit the open market. The guys that hit the open market are ones that didn't succeed in one place, and you hope can become something in a new situation.

Im lost here what Brooks? Aaron Brooks? He like Griese earned his bigger payday. Griese wasn't the same after his shoulder injury but every now and then he does show flashes of what he could have been. Still he was a 3rd round pick. I don't know how you can toss Rivers in there. Hes never really had a chance to prove his worth yet. Leaf and Smith are busts there is little doubt about that but because of them do you not risk a chance at getting a Big Ben, a Manning, or a Palmer? Im not saying we should move up to grab a QB but there is nothing wrong with taking a chance to get a leader for the future.

well there are many different opinions about him here on the mane. Positives and negatives. But what i forget to mention in my first posting, was that we should pick the best player available, but that's nothing new to you guys here in the mane ;)

There you go right there, look at his eyes, look at the way that helmet fits Hilarious!
All kidding aside I would like to see us get him next year, he runs the WCO, moves well (has too the line didn't want to block last year) he is strong and takes a beating he was sacked like 40 times last year and he does have a stronger arm. You'll see a different Taylor out there now that the WRs have a grasp of the WCO. They really started to play better as a team the last three games.

Well if Rivers would be that good he would have beaten out Brees in San Diego but he didn't. And i'm not sure if Brees hasn't been injured seriously if then Rivers would be the QB out of town.

I'll try to watch him as much as I can. I only got to see maybe 2 or 3 Bugeater games last year.

My two favorites right now are Brohm and Wright (homer).

Kyle is very much like Carson Palmer in terms of his physical ability but needs good coaching. Hopefully Rich Olson and Todd Berry will do a much better job than Dan Werner. Even with Werner and a bad OL, KW had almost a 2 to 1 TD/INT ratio in his first year starting.

Brohm's a beast. He should be the No. 1 pick next year if he comes out. I hope he is over his injury. That kid is going to be a GREAT NFL QB.

Sorry I've never had a NFL style QB to pimp before. :) There was one but he kind of died in a accident which sucked. Its one of the main reasons why I have so much respect for Kyle Orton.

Well if you believe that Brees sucked then yeah. If Marino couldn't beat out Elway would that have meant that Marino was a bad QB? How about Steve Young not being able to beat out Montana?

Well , Think about the Warner/Bulger Situation in St.Louis Both Good QB's but only one could play...

Next Duo could be Vick/Schaub ....

If you really want a player you would get him, see the Ricky Williams Draft Story (ok, he wasn't the RBOF for the saints ;) )

I saw the Canes QB a couple times earlier in the year, not bad. When I watched the Cards play I was watching Dumervill more then anything else. I missed a bunch of games late in the year because of work and other things so I didn't get to see as many players as I wanted too.

Yeah that was sad. :( With your new offense you guys should have alot more pro style QBs.

Only thing I am worried about with Kyle this season is that we will again have a bad OL and we are very, very, very, very thin at WR as you can see from the image below.

Ouch that is bad, the Canes reload pretty well though for the most part, well atleast from what Ive seen. It maybe a tougher year then most for the Canes with all the coaching changes but they are team that I would never count out.

After Taylor its Becks turn a Florida boy to get me my NFL QB. :) Hopefully the WRs play up to their talent to help improve my chances of seeing a NU QB taking snaps

Well it took Young seven years of playing in the NFL before becoming a starter and i'm not sure it was because of an injury of Montana. Ok When he started he was not bad at all :wiggle:

We have missed on so many WRs in recruiting the last few years, we absolutely needed 3 studs this year and we ended up with 1 after getting zero last year.

Ive heard of Beck before. He should be good. Is Lucky going to be the starting RB this year?

Going into spring its Lucky's job to lose. Its pretty close race, and you would think a 5 star, second best RB in the class would have the job locked down. We will see. Most believe he will win the job. NU could be real deep with talented WRs. Our leading guy had 45 catches and 7 tds and he was a freshman. The second leading guy had 43 catches abd 7tds as well. He is a Junior this year. Spain was our best WR in the spring pactices last year but he couldn't play because he missed a class. Chris Brooks was a 4 star Freshman last year but he struggled to learn the WCO early. We added Purify and Holt this year. Holt is coming in with alot of hype and Purify is another 4 star WR. This is why I hope Harian comes back. It puts alot of talent on the field that we haven't had in some time now.

Well Brees wasn't lighting the NFL on fire otherwise the Bolts wouldn't have drafted Rivers. (or traded for him) Still its early to call him a bust because he wasn't able to beat out a guy that turned the corner and was lighting the NFL on fire. :)
