View Full Version : Requiem's Revised Draft. (Several) [Post 3-Way Trade]
Requiem

A lot of us are excited about the recent trade up to #15. I'm going to do several drafts, with several scenarios. One of them will be standing pat, two of them will involved trading other picks to move up. Hopefully you'll be interested at the possibilities and like the outcomes. I'll do rounds one through four again, since it's still hard to decipher grades on prospects in later rounds.
SCENARIO ONE: OPERATION SUPER MARIO
#5 - Mario Williams, DE
#61 - Maurice Stovall, WR
COMP - Greg Eslinger, C
#118 - Mike Bell, RB
#125 - Tim Day, TE

Now, it's really hard to come up with a better scenario if we give up another first rounder, as it takes away another pick to address a need. However, that's the price you pay for getting an elite lineman who doesn't come around often and it'll be a rare chance we'll ever have the opportunity to land someone like this, given our tradition of winning. If you have comments about a pick, just ask -- I'd be more than willing to answer.

SCENARIO TWO: OPERATION SPEED DEMON
#8/9 - Vernon Davis, TE
#22 - Mathias Kiwanuka, DE / Running back of Your Choice
COMP - MISCELLANOUS (Dependent on who we take at #22, possibly BPA whether it be DL, WR, S, OL, RB -- should be a pick we choose wisely with, no GAMBLING!)
#118 - Jason Avant, WR
#125 - Terna Nande, LB

This is really hard, because the rest of the picks could be dependent upon what we do with our second first or our compensatory pick. A lot of you guys like Vernon, and I believe if SF doesn't take him, we could trade up with our second and get him. I have a feeling the Rams would get him at #11 if we didn't. Feel free to maneuver guys around, but I think the positions of need as listed in the COMP choice should be addressed.

SCENARIO THREE: OPERATION STAND PAT FOR VALUE
#15 - Chad Jackson, WR (Perhaps a guy like LenDale, Ngata, DeAngelo, Bunkley)
#22 - Mathias Kiwanuka, DE
#61 - Dominique Byrd, TE
COMP - BPA (Hopefully it fills a need, any suggestions?)
#118 - Roman Harper, S
#125 - Terna Nande, LB

This was really hard to do, it's almost 2:00 AM and there's so many ways we can go, and so many ways I wouldn't mind going with our picks. This isn't exactly what I want, but they're ideas. Another guy at #22 I like is Leonard Pope, TE out of Georgia. Who knows guys, just enjoy what I did, pick it apart and give me some comments. I do this because I think it's fun and I like to give other Broncos fans an idea of what I would like to see; and hopefully get some critiques that will allow me to see what other people are thinking as well.
Thank you for your time.

That's the best one for me as well. I think I'd rather go with the Buffs TE though. He seems to block very well and has more pure speed than Byrd. I know Byrd has a knack for making the big play and was a standout performer at the Sr. Bowl, but Klopp seems like the better player at this juncture.

Well, I like Joe too and he'd be a local pick, but he doesn't block very well. At best, he's average.

Avant just ran two 4.80 40s. He could go undrafted.
Jason Avant WR Avant (6-0½, 209) twice ran the 40 in 4.80 seconds. He had a cast on his hand, which probably impeded his performance, and he will run again in the near future. He also ran the short shuttle in 4.19 and the three-cone drill in 7.02. In addition, he had a 35½-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-4 broad jump.

Ouch - he was a tough one to evaluate anyway. Never seemed to live up to his potential and probably went down hill his senior year.

good stuff, Requiem. All three scenarios are very solid although as you know, I disdain Chad Jackson.
OPERATION SOCAL'S WET DREAM
15 Lendale White, HB U$C
22 Mathias Kiwanuka DE Boston College
61 Maurice Stovall WR Notre Dame
COMP Anthony Fasano TE Notre Dame (This is pushing it...getting him right after the close of Round 3, but thats why its called "SoCal's Wet Dream")
118 Johnathon Lewis, DT Virginia Tech
125 Bruce Gradkowski, QB Toledo

I love the first three picks SoCal -- Not a big Fasano fan and I think he'll be gone by then. In that case, hopefully a guy like Orien Harris would be there with our compensation or maybe John McCargo (stock rising) that would give us a pass rushing threat on the inside. I think Lewis will go day one, but it'd be nice to have him there. Switch COMP to a pass-rushing DT and make #118 Tim Day (A solid red zone target!) and I wouldn't mind Bruce at all at #125. Although, I love Terna Nande and think he'd be excellent there, but Bruce would be an excellent fit for us and provide us some more insurance at the QB spot.
