Probably with blaming the wife is that it's impossible to cut through the "old ball and chain" before it brings you down.

Its a good book...

Just wish people would stop quoting the BS in it as fact. Very little in the way of historical accuracy in it.

Yeah, but I think it's a better book than it will be a movie. I'd highly recommend it as a read, as I would with his previous novel on religion and art. Mary is an interesting figure. She was no doubt 'written out' of the Bible, as women were written out of church leadership in the first 3 centuries of so of Christianity. I think it's pretty much taken as fact in scholastic circles that she was not a prostitute. She prolly had schizophrenia, and Jesus cured her. And, she prolly came from a fairly affluent background. Personally, I think it's highly likely that she and Jesus were a couple. But as for the rest of Brown's conspiracy theory .... it's a good read.
