View Full Version : Orange Mane Voting Mock Draft
Clockwork Orange
03-15-2006, 08:54 PM
We've done this at least once before (that I can remember anyway) and it was pretty fun. Yes, it's another offseason time killer.
It goes like this. We basically do a mock draft and the posters here cast their vote for who they think the team on the clock should pick. Whoever gets the most votes is the choice for that team and we move on to the next one. Each team will be on the clock for approxinately 12 hours (perhaps less if the vote is overwhelming).
The good thing about this is that people can participate as much or as little as they like. No waiting on people to make picks or anything like that.
So with that, I'm officially putting the Houston Texans on the clock with the very first pick.
Vote!! :)

Thanks so much. :)
This is a tough call, but I think that this draft is rich in O-linemen and the Texans can nab a 1st round caliber OT with the 1st pick of the 2nd round.
Therefore, my vote goes to.....

D'brick is the obvious choice here IMO. They just paid both Carr and Dom Davis a big chunk of change and Dom fits more into Kubiak's style then Bush.
Either they will trade down 2 spots and take Brick then or they will reach a bit and take him with the first. Either way it's the smart and safe move.

No trades in this mock. We're just going with the current draft order.
This is another interesting pick simply because the Saints threw everyone's draft boards out of whack when they signed Drew Brees.
I cast my vote for D'Brickashaw Ferguson. Jammal Brown can play right tackle and the Saints will have a pair of bookends for the next decade or so.

Yeah I don't get it either but at the same time they won't trade him. I think it was last year a team offered a third rounder for him and they said no.

I'd think 20 is too high for Watson, especially with his questionable motor. I'd take Claude Wroten ahead of him personally, but neither of them at 20.
That said, I went with Cromartie because pre-knee injury, he was regarded as a top 10 and possibly top 5 pick. I think that's worth taking a gamble on with the 20th pick.

The Chiefs won't take a WR before the 3rd. They almost never do. And while we definitely need a dependable WR that's all we need. We don't need a 80+ catch and 1,200 yard guy.
Not a big need there.
Considering how often DT's underperform and grow lazy after a draft day/payday and the Sims situation I don't see them double dipping at that position.
Considering Herm's past and our biggest need I'd expect a trade up to land a Jimmy Williams or wait for Antonio Cromartie...KC has always gone for more physical corners and there won't be a DT this year (IMHO) worth trading up for.
