This is a guy that is very athletic, and can make all the throws. If he was just a little smarter, boy would he be good.
he is braindead than Ricky Williams after 5 shots of pot. no thx, I will pass

What, in Aaron Brooks professional history, makes you think Shanny can do anything with this clown?
I'm all about a talented backup in Denver and Brooks has the ability. He has never had the coaching.

Let him be our own version of "Slash". Make him a bit more humble and see how that goes, for vet min of course ;)

I'm ok with him as a backup here, but would love for him to be the qb in choakland. Let him throw a few balls backward or right to big Al.

He has the physical tools, but sometimes he looks like he must be the dumbest player out there. I don't care how smart Shanny is, if this guy is as dumb as he sometimes appears, then pass, cause you cannot coach him to be smarter (if he lacks the grey matter).

His resume is very similar to Plummer's when he left Arizona; plus he come's from the Ron Mexico family tree. Sign him up!!!!

Got me there, but I don't think he has ever played a down in the NFL. Was he that bad in college?

The man couldn't run Nebraska O. It was too hard for him. All the run right, run left, run up the middle made his head hurt. Hes a saftey now, sad thing hes been in the NFL longer then Crouch. Ha! Lords has lots of football talent but he isn't the brightest guy from what I have read. Still he's doing things to stay in the NFL so thats a plus.

Back to the thread I would love to add Brooks. He is tall so he can see over the line. He has good arm strength and he moves around well.

Have you ever looked at Plummers stats?
3 years befor coming to Denver(passer ratings)
Plummer 66.0,79.6,65.7
Broooks 88.8,79.5,70.0
Brooks has better numbers, then Plummer had.
In watching them play I would say Brooks has a stronger arm and is better in the pocket. Jake is better throwing on the run, Brooks is a better runner.

Also, since my friend is a Saints fan, i have had to watch a lot of Saints games.
Funny story, we go to a sports bar to watch our games. Saints and Broncos. He has on his jersey as usual, but by the end of the game he takes it off and hides it Ha!
Funny, i ragged on him ALL day!!! To rub it in , the Broncos won that day (skins game)
Anyway, Brooks is a QB that under the right coach, he will be very good.

Yeah but Plummer was a one man show in AZ while Brooks has been NO's weakest link. That man shows no heart and quits under pressure

I'm calling it like i see it...
Aaron Brooks is a black version of Jake Plummer
talented qb that has made many bone headed mistakes on the field and can run well and can throw on the run well...and has played for crappy management
i say bring him in as a back up.....

I'd take him as a backup.
Fact is we are one bad hit from being forced to rely on BVP to not lose a game for us. And that is scary as hell.

I've always said the way this team is setup there's no reason we shouldn't have a decent backup. brooks would be a fine option.
i would never rule out a one-time steady starter as a backup...definitely safer than BVP
how old is aaron?

I have seen the Frerott show. It ain't pretty. Gus has reached his peak.
This guy could be a good project QB, if the price is right.

I'd be a bit reluctant to take a chance on this guy....how the hell is he going to understand Shanny's system when he couldn't fully comprehend Haslett's?

Well, you could have said the same thing about Jake....and I guess you probably still COULD....I guess, er something. Whatever, I don't care. He's Aaron freaking Brooks.

Yes, let him throw passes behind him all day long, especially twice a year with Denver! "Go to Oakland Brooks, it's your dessstiny!" says Al Wilson as he salivates over the thought of scoring another pick 6.

I guess they don't expect Lienart, Young, or Cutler to fall to them. They'd be smarter to draft one of them or at least trade up to make sure they do...but this is Al Davis.
I'll be thankful that we face him two times a year...should be some easy interceptions.
I wouldn't mind him as a backup under Shanny's instruction but a full time starter after his performance recently? I don't know especially with the lack of Raider's coaching.
