You know, I would just as soon they didn't sign McCown. I'd much rather they resigned Collins for another year. I think McCown could develop into a pretty decent long-term solution, if he was given the chance.

That would require patience, not exactly one of the Cryptkeepers strong suits. He'll keep plugging in journeymen until he finally croaks then they can look for a long term QB solution.

McCown is an AWESOME guy. Came to our church once, and told us his story. He has a decent arm and good mobility, given a chance he might be a solid future QB.

I figured they'd go after a veteran. I can't see them going into the season with Tui as the most seasoned QB on the roster.

He'll be a backup... Walters is Al's Pick! The bigger thing is that we started revamping the OLine!

I believe the QB situation will be as follows...
Walter, George, TBA..(not necessarily in that order)
TBA= Brooks, McCown, or one of the top 3 QBs in the draft

Actually my gut feeling is that we will wind up drafting Vince Young next month.
Oh and didn't you hear? We signed Toni (my titties rival Pam Anderson's) Fonuti yesterday to play Guard for us.
Between Walker And him whatever Qb we play is not likely to make it through the 2nd preseason quarter.

There is a lesson here.
Remember: There is always someone who is worse off than you are.

Actually McCown would be the most seasoned guy. Tui's barely played!

That's what I meant. I was saying that I didn't think they'd want to go into a season with Tui being the most experienced QB they had. McCown at least has several starts under his belt.

No friggin way Oakland takes VY, especially if they sign this dude. Vernon Davis and his 4.39 40 has Al's name all over him.
Our line was fine before that Jim Colletto clown got here. With Shell, Jackie Slater, and Irv Eatman (former KC asst line coach) those dudes HAVE to get better.

I'd probably see if I could ship Tui off to the Buc's for a 5th rounder or something. He's damn near useless outside of a West Coast Offense. Take Jeff George up on his offer to wear a hat and hold a clipboard.

I think Al has fallen in love with VY for better or worse.
And I would be willing to bet that even if we have to trade up he winds up in Oakland next month.
Point taken on Davis though, I have said the same thing in the past on the Raiders board I post on.
Like it or not TE is still a crying need on this team.
Why Courtney Anderson gets a free pass from so many is beyond me.

This interest in McCown would lead me to believe that Al doesnt like any of the QB's that may be there at our pick. Young or Cuttler.
So outside of the QB's, who are the biggest athletic freaks?
Mario Williams (would need to move up)
Vernon Davis
Michael Huff
I'm betting it's one of those guys, especially if we sign this dude.

Hey Bill, any idea of who Al is looking at in this draft?
Nobody knows the answer to that but Al and his inner circle..
Here is my wish list, but only one of these guys should be availableat 7 ..
Brick
SuperMario
Hawk
Cutler
I wont be suprised if Al takes Young if he is available, but I for one would be dissapointed...

Tough to say, but this interest in McCown would lead me to believe he isn't interested in Vince Young or Cuttler.
The question you need to ask is "Who are the biggest athletic freaks of nature at the top of this draft?"
I'd rank them
Mario Williams - Would likely need to trade up
Vernon Davis
Michael Huff
I figure the pick is going to be one of those guys.
Maximus

I have a gut feeling that Huff will be the selection. We have been getting killed by everyones TE. Huff can play safety or cb. Woodson is gone... Huff is the best CB in the draft. Outside of that I think that We get Mario... Who the hell knows Culpecker and Drew pee's messed up the whole friggin draft for now!

No ****ing way JJ. Andrew Walters was hand picked by Al Davis. Walter was the sole reason that Collins had no contract leverage. We both know that Davis is not going to go with a Rook at QB! Sure Walter never played a regular season game, but he looked like he had the stuff during preseason. My bet is we address this after the cutdowns... We will bring in a backup!

Al loves world class athletes though.
I think he might take Devin Hester in the early 2nd for that reason also.
