View Full Version : possible alternatives now
Now that a number of top free agents are off the table, i wanted to compile a list of who is available and more importantly worthy of broncos interest
i see the broncs taking a look at:
TO-like it or not
Abe-whether or not he's worth a pick is debatable, but he gets sacks
Givens-might command too much money
Rocky Bernard-would be a terror with Big money but probably too expensive
Eric Moulds-aksed to be released or traded today, old but still gets it done
Sam Adams-could take up space inside while a rookie develops
Kalimba Edwards-good young edge-rusher
...?
...?

TO-No.
Abe- No.
Givens- Prolly too costly.
Rocky Bernard-That would be solid. Worried about the cost.
Eric Moulds-Eh...lukewarm. Getting old.
Sam Adams-No.
Kalimba Edwards-No. Detroit doesnt want him, that says enough.
...?

We had our chance and sat there with dicks in our hands. At least last year we had an excuse when Trevor was holding a gun to our heads and refusing to release the pursestrings.
Now there is pretty much marginal talent, or aging talent or cancers/losers.
Pack it up and head for the draft.

i agree that our hands were busy under the table, and that the elite talent is gone but im not quite ready to pack it in...we can get better

TO, Bernard, and Edwards
You think they're gonna go all out to get Owens now?
He's the bigget gun for hire left out there who fills a need for the Broncos. Dallas is going to make it pretty costly (I imagine) but we know that they either have or can clear the space necessary to make it happen.
i dont know a lot about kalimba, but he seems intreaging as an edge rusher, a lot of talent...anyone know anything about him

i dont see shanahan getting into a bidding war wiht anyone this offseason, seems to happy to hang on to his money to overpay for anyone...if it gets expensive i dont think we will compete
Kalimba Edwards had 7 sacks last year.
He is like a hybrid DE/LB. He maybe more of a 3-4 guy. I like the kid.

 TO!
i dont think it would be a bad idea to get a veteran DT like sam adams to take up space in the middle, while we also draft someone like bunk to develop for a year or so

Kalimba Edwards is in serious talks with the Browns.....could be another loss.

crennel has that team coming around

Damn nfl.com should update there board. They showed Jamal lewis signed though, go figure
JAVON WALKER-make it happen shanahan he is everything we need if we give him a new contract he will be a model citizen with gamebreaking ablility on the offensive side of the ball

We can't "lose" something we never had.
you lose the opportunity...its an economist's point of view

If the price is right, Adams would be a great backup at the NT position behind Myers.
Denver still needs the pass rushing Under Tackle like Bunkley or Mahelona.
Bernad could also be good at the UT in pass rushing situations and move Warren over to the NT in pass rushing situations.

It's interesting that people are calling Moulds "old" when he's a little bit younger than T.O. Moulds will be 33 in July. I know that doesn't answer your question. It's just an observation...

Moulds is a couple months older than TO, I think. But yeah, they're both getting up there. TO is just freakish enough for it to not matter much.

YEAH! How would that work? He's definitely a player, might have a year or two left ....

either one has more than enough in the tank to be the second every-down reciever our team needs to pair with rod for the next couple years while ash continues to be our deep threat.
