Good. I hope he keeps asking for too much.

If he thinks he's gonna get the kind of money that Edge got, he needn't bother coming to town.

Well, you know eventually he'll settle for what he can get, where ever that it is.

If I was him and I went threw the BS with Baltimore (contract,Oline,QB,Ray Ray), not to mention the legal crap. I'd look for a fresh start somewhere else.

The Ravens are for sure looking at RB in the draft. I'd be on a plane to Denver tonight.

since they're both in maryland maybe andre carter could be his flight companion and save money :)

Jamal isnt going to get a bonus higher than 7 million. And alot of his deal will be incentive based. People are going to make sure that if he really is on the slide, they will be protected.

I wouldn't root too hard for Jamal Lewis to land here if I were you Beerslug. Him signing here would mean that Terrell Owens isn't. The Broncos seem intent on getting a DE, be it Abraham or Carter and that leaves enough space for about one big offensive acquisition. You've been leading the charge for the Broncos to sign Owens, so you might wanna hope that Lewis stays put in Baltimore.

I'd rather see TO here and I don't think Lewis fits here very well (pass catching) but Shanahan seems to think he would work out here. If we did sign him we would have to run a little different offense IMO.

Like Run on 1st,2nd then playaction on third?

he does nothing for me either. Give the rock to Dayne and Bell, and draft a Calhoun, Bell, etc

ESPN.com's John Clayton reports The Ravens opted against tagging Lewis, instead giving him a chance to test the market. While the the team has not given up hope of re-signing the former All-Pro, Lewis has indicated he is ready for a "fresh start."

"My gut feeling is I won't be back," Lewis told The Baltimore Sun.

sorry if its been posted somewhere

That may change now that Chester Taylor signed with Minnesota.

ESPN is now saying Jamal will make the trip. The Ravens still seems to have the inside track on keeping him, however, due to a higher volume of crackheads in the Baltimore area.

Also, first post. Hi.

Thanks for the welcome, fellas. Now time to find an avatar of some kind.

Might as well state my official opinion on Jamal while I'm here: thumbs down. At this point in their careers, I don't see much of a difference between Jamal and Dayne; one's on the way up, and the other is on the way down. I'm not real big on handing out big money for past production.

If you need an avatar or signature, visit the photoshop forum and someone can hook you up for sure. I'd do it myself, but I just got photoshop 3 days ago and I suck at it

One bad year doesn't mean your no good anymore, Lewis is 26 too which is pretty young, no matter who totes the rock in Denver the run game will be fine.

cool video.

i agree. Bell has a legit shot at the starter spot. If he goes into camp working his butt off, he will win the spot. If he comes in lazy and not working hard, then Dayne, or whover else is here will win the spot. Quite simple really.

It is very sad that Mike Bell gets as much respect as Tatum on here. Some of us still believe he has what it takes to be our starter.

I don't know. He seems to be falling down most draft boards, and we know the Cards won't be looking for a back. So, the draft could fall like this as far as backs go

1. Texans: Bush
13. Baltimore: White
17. Minnesota: Maroney
21. New England: Calhoun/Addai

If Balitmore resigns Jamal, there's a pretty good chance they won't bother with a back in the first round, freeing up another spot. Do I think it'll happen? Probably not, but it's possible. Either way, I think we'll end up with Jamal.

Lestat

no way Lewis gets anywhere near Edge money, the Ravens aren't gonna give it to him cause they know other teams won't, the Broncos aren't dumb enough to give it to him according to "the plan"

he'll get around 30-34 mil over 5-6 years with alot of incentives but if any team not named the ravens is willing to pay Edge money or even close then they need to fire their decision makers & let the fans give em a public ass whooping

DeAngelo is too good to pass up unless the team has a great RB. Williams won't slide past the third overall runningback drafted. Did you mean to imply Maroney or Calhoun/Addai could be drafted ahead of Williams? If so, not likely.

SoCalBronco

Dont be surprised to see DeAngelo go as high as No. 6 to SF. Not unlike Gruden and the Bucs with Cadillac, Nolan and his staff absolutely LOVED Williams when they were coaching him at the Senior Bowl week.

Niners won't take Williams, I'll tell you that much. At leat I hope they don't, as as a guy that's also a Niners fan. They've got too many needs, and it's likely they'll trade back if someone like Brick or Mario doesn't fall to them. If that's the case, look for them to look at Davis or Huff.

Davis would be the BPA at #6. Alex Smith could use some firepower on offense.

I tend to agree, yeah. Still, if he's sitting there at six, I think there's a chance they try to move back a bit and hope he falls to them. As a fan of the team, I'd love to have Brick or Mario fall, but I'd just as soon take Davis. Playing games with the draft and losing out on your guy isn't something a team like the Niners needs.

With the Ravens signing Mike Anderson, they'll be less likely to draft a RB.

I wouldn't say that. Anderson is 33 years old and may be only viewed as a stopgap. I'd say that the odds of them taking a RB are actually pretty good, especially since it appears that LenDale White should fall to them at #13.

If Bell could block and pick up the tough 3, he'd be a shoe in to start, and there would be no RBC or discussion over who we should draft or sign in FA.
