Well....we arent running a 3-4 and in a 4-3, we already have 3 starting backers locked up for at least a few more years. Team probably cant afford to trade one of them right now due to the bonus hit.

Is San Fancisco gutting their entire team?

Don't need him.
We are deep at LB and still have other needs in FA and still no cap money to waste on him....:pimp:

OMG, we could end up having 4 out of the top 13 of that draft class in the next 2 weeks.

1 C Brown
5 J Lewis
11 R Dayne
13 J Abraham

Bonus was 5 million, 5 year deal. There's 3 million left...how do you get 800k?

That would suck dogballs.

By the time camp starts, only Samuels, Urlacher and Ellis will still be on the team that drafted them.

that was what I was thinking, I wasn't even looking at him for LB, just a DE

SB was $2.4m according to USA Today unless it's 2-tiered.

Its two-tiered, its a 5 yr. 9 million deal with 5 million in signing bonuses, sixth year voids. They split it up between 1st and 2nd year, so it would be a 3 million cap hit.

I'd rather have Peterson at DE than giving up a first and all that cash to Abraham. Especially now with the possibilty of landing White or D Williams in the draft after Cards signing Edge.

JP cannot play DE. He's a true linebacker, and a damn fine one when he's healthy. Of course, that hasn't been for like three years now, so buyer beware. I think he should end up in Minnesota. They have the money to take the risk.

Notice to potential Raider signings...they will fly you in first class, and give you a bus ticket out if you don't sign. This is true. Funny, but true.

Peterson is the only player (S, CB, or LB) to ever completely shut Gonzo down.

Nothing. Squat. Ziltch.

While getting like 8 solo tackles.

The guy is a ****ing monster. Any team that gets him is lucky...

Peterson is not a DE, he's a OLB who excells in making plays & pass coverage

but he doesn't have the makeup to be a good DE in the 4-3 scheme, he's Joey Porter esque but not quite the rush skills

he would play the OLB in out 4-3 scheme.

yeah but Denver already has a OLB hence no room for him, the Raiders prolly have room for him but Denver does not(which is what i was pointing out since the poster(s) said he was thinking of him as a DE not LB)

edit: Denver runs a 4-3 scheme with 3-4 only sometimes, they don't have the personel to run 3-4 as a base & Coyer isn't a 3-4 guy IMO
