22. Broncos
(from Redskins) Tamba Hali DE Penn State 22nd SAME 22nd / 22nd
The Broncos are expected to use at least one first-day pick on a defensive lineman. If Hali, the Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year, is available, Denver would consider him strongly.
29. Broncos Jason Allen FS Tennessee NR (NR) 29th / NR
With an extra first-round pick, the Broncos have the flexibility to gamble on greatness. Allen was graded as a possible top ten pick before dislocating his hip. With no games played since the injury, scouts were concerned about his health. That was, until he ran a 4.39 and had the best Combine workout no one seems to be talking about.

Jason Allen ran a 4.39?!?!?!?!?!?!?! If that's accurate, wow...

I hate it when posters and the media make it sound like teams can just "afford to gamble" or take a wild flyer with extra picks and comp picks. Every pick is important.

I want Kiwi over Hali. Might have a much higher bust potential, but take the chance when you're picking in the 20's.

I actually like it when playoff teams take risks, if my team was picking high, then I'd prefer the safer pick.

Probably based of Denver's history of making the WTF selections he may not be far off. But I totally agree, you can't reach in the first 3 rounds, hopefully Denver keeps adding young talent that will be the core for years to come.

No way. Kiwi is going to be just like Pryce. Looks like a stud, and plays like it just enough to keep him around with a nice price tag. Hali is a never quit DE like we haven't seen in Denver for a long time.
If his hip is 100% Jason Allen absolutely merits a first round selection. Has health concerns, but has a lot of potential. I don't want to see us go S in round 1 however.

Just no more Dan Williams picks, no Middlebrooks. Did Allen play many games before the injury? I hate drafting guys with health concerns.
Broncos

The Broncos are expected to use at least one first-day pick on a defensive lineman. If Hali, the Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year, is available, Denver would consider him strongly. I LOVE THIS PICK
I would take any of these below before Jason Allen , huff is the only frist rounder i would like in this draft.
23. Ernie Sims OLB Florida State 23rd SAME 23rd / 23rd
Often compared to former Seminole Derrick Brooks,
25. Chad Greenway OLB Iowa 12th (-13) 12th / 25t
The athletic and instinctive Greenway could tumble a bit down the board as his 16 reps of 225 pounds at the combine didn't alleviate concerns about his playing strength. I would love an outside linebacker of this caliber falling into their lap.
26. Marcedes Lewis TE UCLA 26th SAME 26th / 26th
Lewis ultimately could be considered a bit of a reach here, .
27 DeMeco Ryans OLB Alabama 31st (+4) 27th / 31st
Mathias Kiwanuka DE Boston College NR (NR) 31st / NR
Kiwanuka is not the guaranteed first rounder that his hype indicates, but does have rare size and speed for the position. With two established starters in Grant Wistrom and Bryce Fisher at end already, the Seahawks could afford to use Kiwanuka strictly as a third down pass rush specialist.

I don't think he played until the combine. I think if he'd stayed healthy, he'd be one of the top CB/S 'tweener propspects in the draft.

I'd like to see Denver possibly taking both.

Allen looked great running at the combine but he did not do any of the cutting drills that would stress the hip. He is a serious health question still until that hip is thoroughly checked out. I don't think safety is a first round need for us and there are a number of pretty good prospects who could be had later. I'd be thrilled with Hali at 22 but I don't see him lasting.
