Showing the Sebastian Telfair movie at the same time as the Sopranos? Freakin' WEAK.
I know that nobody around these parts will care about that movie, but I'm looking forward to it, and they are showing it march 12th, the night of the Sopranos. The only good thing is that it will be replayed a bunch, so I suppose I'll have to record it on the DVR.

ok, who cares about a soon to be unemployed scrub sitting on the Portland bench? (after his rookie contract runs out, it's doubtful he gets resigned)

I've just heard really good things about the movie, it's won some awards, etc. I don't care about Telfair per se, but it's supposed to be a good movie for basketball fans.

Yeah, to be honest I don't know much about him other than he's Marbury's cousin or something, and he came out of high school. I haven't even seen him play outside of the times that Portland and Denver play.
But it's supposed to be a good movie. Ah well, nothing is worth missing the Sopranos. It's going to be awesome.

Soprano's sucks. The only people that watch it are social losers who have no life.
No offense to any of you social losers who have no life and watch the Soprano's.

I recommend you read the book "The Last Shot", its chronicles the dreams of four players from Coney Island, the same area where Telfair is from.
Its from the 91-92 season and the team is Abraham Lincoln HS and focuses on three seniors from that team and a freshman named Stephon Marbury.
Probably the best book I've read.
Its heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time.
Its a good read for basketball enthusiasts and for those that want to understand the inner-city and the kids that come out of their.
It was written by Darcy Frey.
I've visited the Coney Island playgrounds where these guys hoop and its great hoops to watch.

Thanks for the recomendation. While we're on basketball books, I would suggest reading The Last Amateurs and The Punch, both by John Feinstein.
TLA chronicles a season in the life of the Patriot League, a very small division I conference with teams like army, navy, lafayette, etc. It's about the players, how they play for pride mainly, how they're students first, etc etc. Great read.
The Punch is about Kermit Washington/Rudy T.
Both great books. I'm gunna check out The Last Shot, sounds cool.

I've read the Last Amateurs. Good book and I'm rooting for Bucknell again this year.
I know somewhere down the line I will read the Punch.

Two of the best basketball movies I've seen are Hooked and Rebound. Two of the most talented basketball players to never play in the NBA. I'd recommend em both, but I thought Hooked was better
