Nuggets Likely To Sign Eisley
3rd March, 2006 - 9:35 am
Denver Post - The Denver Nuggets are likely to sign Howard Eisley to a 10-day contract on Friday.

"I feel good about the situation," Eisley said. "They've made a couple of deals I think that's helped improve their team."

Eisley averaged 0.7 points in 13 games with the Los Angeles Clippers , who released him in January. For his career, he has averaged 6.6 points and made 35.1 percent of his 3-point attempts.

"He fills a dual role of a third point guard and a perimeter shooter who's had experience in two NBA Finals and as much playoff experience as anyone on the team," said agent Dan Fegan, who now represents five Nuggets.

10 day deal? So this is basically a trial period to see if he can fill our pure shooter needs? His stats really don't look like he can add much to the team, but on the other hand, what've we got out on the perimiter now?

I dunno, I guess we'll see what happens in 10 days

These guys were both waved the in the 1st, Jon Barry & Jim Jackson. I was thinking we might get a look at one of them.

I have always have thought of Eisley as a point guard. That would make sense seeing how KIKI likes to load up on point guards.

Buckner is on his way out for sure. I'm all for bringing in people, I think Wes Person played really well for us last year.

It's worth it to give the guy a try I think.

I think Wes is the best person to fill our need. We know he wont screw with any chemistry. Barry refuses to sign a 10 day contract, or he'd be good too. I just dont like Jackson for some reason... another 35% pg isn't what we need

I think this is a case of Eisley being the only one to actually sign a 10-day contract. Otherwise, you would think Person or Barry would be Nugs.

I don't see how Barry could "hurt" the Nugs if we sign him for the rest of the year.
