Whats plan B? Rookies don't start here on the OLine, plus a rookie LT will have bumps in the road. There are some ok players out there now in FA but how many of them fit the system? Does Foster move over or will Green take LT? Really this seems like a much bigger problem the Warren. There looks like quite a few DTs will be cut soon, plus the draft. Thoughts?

Salaam is out there. He could be a good stop gap.

I've seen Green do a good job in a couple of LT starts. I'm sure there will be plenty of choices via free agency after Thursday.

Salaam can come back was my opinion too.
A healthy Foster would have no trouble at LT, leaving the RT to Epraim or Green. WE will be ok.
I really hope MAtt stays tho, very good LT, underrated imo,.

I think Matt will be back, if he was refusing to restructure then he'd have been cut with the others. If he's not back, however, I have a hunch that Foster might stay where he is with Green going full-time at LT. Remember Green started to split time at RT with Foster last year, but has always been backup for both tackle slots, so he's more ready than foster is to switch.

I'd agree with ozomulsion, they'd have to put Green in the starting lineup and move him OR Foster to the left side.

If we don't get Lepsis (who's occupying what $6million cap space) then we can use that for Shaffer who is a pretty good tackle who's excellent on his feet and will be familiar with out run blocking system. Apart from Houston, there won't be too many teams out there that will value a smaller LT who's specific to zone blocking.

Remember Green started to split time at RT with Foster last year, but has always been backup for both tackle slots, so he's more ready than foster is to switch. Cuts will continue through today. We just hit the obvious three yesterday, don't be surprised to see Brown, maybe Ekuban, and a few more guys on the bus out of Denver before 4pm today. Not definate, but its very possible.
Also, Warren and Lepsis deals have voided because of contract clauses they've met, they won't be cut, instead released into FA. We don't have the option to keep him without a new deal.
My Plan B is to sign Kevin Schaffer from ATL to a 4 year, 30% scaling deal. Start him at LT, let Foster stay at RT, Green is the backup, draft some depth in the middle (3-5) rounds as well and call it good.
My Plan C is to sign Salaam, move Foster to LT, Green to RT, and Salaam backs them both up, draft a rookie higher than we would have in plan B, as early as 29th overall if a guy we like is there, but at least by the end of day 1.
My Plan D is to just move Foster over, Green to RT, draft OT in the first round, and hope like hell the new guy gets up to speed quick or Pears shows a hell of a lot more than he did last year.
Loosing Lepsis isn't a knife in the heart of our SB hopes for '06. Its more akin to getting shot in the foot. Makes it a lot harder, but if we build up the other areas of need and bring in some good options at OT we should still be a serious contender.
By the way, I know I've been pushing Kevin Schaffer for months, but no, I'm not his agent and I'm not related to him. He really is the best OT option for a zone blocking system not currently on the Broncos, and just happens to be a unrestricted free agent this year.

we aren't losing Lepsis
they are pretty much done with a new deal per yesterday's article

Plan B is "a rebuilding year".
God I hope Lepsis dont leave.
