This is the cap at 92 million dollars, so I guess it's save to say we're around going to be at about 14 million over or so if a deal doesn't get done. Most of us know the options and what we can do to get under the cap, but I thought I'd bring in what ESPN is saying.

Honestly, I'm getting a little irked with this whole 'we're over the cap' talk. Folks, we're over the cap every year and yet it doesn't stop us from being competitive. Every year, cap experts say the Broncos will not be major players in free agency, yet we always seem to find a way to bring in guys who can help the team. If it was that bad, I guarantee we'd see guys being cut left and right ala the Titans of a couple years ago. I'm just gonna wait and see how things play out. If we lose some guys, we'll bring in someone to replace them. Never fear, I'm sure this was planned out way before any of us started worrying about this.

WTF is Upshaw doing bolting like a spoiled brat (which he is)? Iron this out...it's not like Russia vs. Germany or USA vs. Japan....Jesus....this is getting absurd...If Upshaw is this incompetent the players need to fire him yesterday. He's going to cost them millions apon millions and doesn't seem to know it.

An uncapped year is what he wants, and it's the absolute worst for the players. He's been an idiot for years, now he's trying to kill the league...

Two days ago we were talking about a cap of 106-111 million and this clown walks out? WTF is that? Maybe if we spend 20 bucks for a warm beer? Tell ya what...there is a limit to our patience....

Here is what reality is...it's kinda like Reaganomics...look how Al Davis tried to bleed Oakland dry....the result? he couldn't sell out the stadium on a regular basis....you charge 100 bucks for a seat...people will simply stop going and watch it on free tv...altho, basically they are still paying for the ads, not the other way around.

I was pissed off yesterday...today I'm Royally Pissed OFF.

You are exactly right dbfan4life.

Every year, it seems the un-informed media and bigwits like John Clayton and others think Broncos are in salary cap purgatory.

But I'm going to wait and see how things play out.

Ted Sundquist and Shanny know this could happen - that their may not be a CBA ironed out - so its not like its going they are going to be caught off guard.

14 million shouldn't be much of a probelm after cutting Pryce.

according to them we are in the best shape we have been in recent years. We will see how the cap affects the FA season, but i think we will be ok.

Cutting Pryce, and Brown will probably happen tho. Brown may stay, but i just cant see Pryce restructing his deal again this offseason. I would like Putz to stay, but who knows.

Putz isn't going anywhere unless traded, and seriously doubt that...we just gave him the SB last year, but all bets are off at this point.

I don't think Clayton sees it as a problem, he's doing what he's supposed to do. It's been stated on ESPN that three guys make up for like 25 million of our cap this year. Cutting Pryce cuts that figure and half, and if Warren and Lepsis can come to terms on an agreement, that'll help us out as well. They're cap numbers this year are somewhere together of what, 13 million or so, and if we could half that, we'd be home free. Along with some decent restructures, we should be fine.

Lee Razier said in the RMN that they'd been preparing for free agency without a CBA extension. I wonder did Pat give them some insider info. He also said Dayne has a good shot at the starting RB spot this season.

Legwold's and Williamson's number of $20M over after Nalen's deal was re-done was correct, and not the **** they put out this morning. If the cap comes in at $95M like everyone thinks now, Denver's under after just the cuts from today.

They're $1.6m under as of now according to DPO. Lepsis deal is nearly finalised so that only leaves Warren. I'd like him to stay but if he does go we'll have another $7.6m in space.
