I have a quick question. When the CU/csu game is held at Invesco field do you attend the game? What are your thoughts on this game?
As a CU season ticket holder, I have my own thoughts, but I want to see what the casual Denverite/Coloradan football fan thinks about this game. The series will be played at Invesco in early September in 2006-2008.

Screw Invesco, keep the game at the home sites IMO. There is nothing like a chance to see the Buffs at home and I'm sure CSU fan feels the same even if their crib isnt as big.

I think CSU makes more coin at Invesco...

I like it. Parking and getting in and out of Boulder is a huge pain. Both teams get a lot more exposure playing a game in the Denver market. I always go.

Just curious, how does CU and CSU get more exposure? Exposure to the Denver market or TV type exposure?
Bombay, are you just a football fan in general or do you ha ve a rooting interest?

Militia, can you expand upon that thought? Is it bad for the state if the games are held on campus? Do Colorado 4 and 5 stars bluechippers look at that game a s a reason to go to either school?

I was speaking of exposure in the Denver market, but haven't most of the Invesco games been national TV games? I could be wrong about that, relying on a pretty feeble memory, but it seems that at least 2 of them were.

I wont go to the game in Boulder. I hate that ****stain and wont go there. Probably wont drive up to Ft Collins anymore to be perfectly honest with you.
Invesco seemed to make it more relevant and more fun to the front range.

LOL. That's hilarious. What does it say about your loyalty to the Rams when you won't drive an hour to get to Hughes on a Saturday??
How is the game more "relevant" to the front range at Invesco?

And the last two in Boulder were nationally televised as well. I believe you are correct about 2002 and 2003. I know I watched the 2002 game in San Diego and the 2003 was on ESPN2

I just live so far south now, that it kind of sucks..(its more like 2 1/2 hours) I think you get more of the casual fan going to Invesco.(makes it more relavant) I had a lot of fun the couple years they had it there. (Going to all the Broncos games also makes it hard for me to atted college games too)
BTW...Notre Dame plays AF in Colorado Springs this year...so thats my big local game :)

I'm a CU fan, and go to at least one game per season in Boulder, and try to get to two. Great place to see a football game, and I love the atmosphere on campus. One thing that keeps me from going to more games there is getting in and out of Boulder and the parking problem. Not being a season ticket holder and having access to preferred parking, I can't get back on 36 to head out of town. A serious lack of restrooms is also a drawback. Generally I've missed a least a small portion of the game waiting in line. It's a 20 minute drive from SE Denver to Invesco, and generally you can take the street from Auraria or 8th Av, and sort of sneak in and out rather quickly.

Makes no difference to me really. We are capable of travelling a bit if need be. I had a great time in the CU tailgate lot last year and we have a great time @ Invesco.
Yeah I know this is an old pic. I'm planning on getting some new material in the offseason. :yayaya:

Okay, next season let me know what game(s) you are going to attend and you can stop by our tailgate. Just leave Denver a littler earlier and come tailgate for a bit. I can show you some "secret spots" on where to park and how to get out of Boulder in a more timely manner. I guess I never had a restroom issue at Folsom, but I never go during halftime.

Thanks. I'll give a shout when next season rolls around (seems like a long way off). My complaints look kind of petty now that I see them in writing, but the convenience of Invesco to Denverites can't be completely overlooked.

You can find her at Shotgun Willies on Colorado. They had a classic car show there last year. They asked us to play some music and cook up a little grub from the bus. So we did!
I believe she was in upper management.;D
Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread.

Yep, I have tickets. I'll be there. Not sure where we are going before the game though, probably the Dark Horse.
