Rock andRoll artist selling thier music to TV ads...........And U2 didnt take any money from the Ipod commercial , but U2 gets I pod royalties , and got to expose a song to a brandnew generation that neverwouldhave heard the song ...........Led Zepplin did the same with Cadilac , Bruce sprinstien , Tom Waite , Niel Young still wont "Sell out" ............

It's up to the artist really. Personally, I wouldn't ever do it because generally I find it about as appealing as curdled milk....but it's the way of the west these days, what can you do?

There's nothing wrong with it. It's a good marketing tool (not great, because people find a way to avoid commercials these days...ugh!~ ). There's also nothing wrong with an artist wanting to make money. A song is the property of the artist, and he/she can do whatever they want with it.
