First and foremost, read this interview with David Stern. Really good: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/stern/060216

Now, onto the Nuggets stuff:

Rodman Hopes To Return To NBA, Offered Tryouts By Blazers And Raptors
16th February, 2006 - 7:21 pm
CNNSI.com - Basketball's Dennis Rodman says he wants to return to the NBA at age 44.

Rodman is playing in England these days and told reporters there that the Portland Trail Blazers and the Toronto Raptors offered him tryouts.

The Blazers told The Associated Press today they have no interest in Rodman.

Rodman has just completed a three-game stint with the Brighton Bears of the British Basketball League.

Now A Matter Of When Francis Will Be Dealt
16th February, 2006 - 3:20 pm

Chris Sheridan/ESPN Insider - Chris Sheridan of ESPN is reporting that it is no longer a matter of whether Steve Francis is dealt, but whe. New York and Denver are the leading candidates as of now, but Minnesota is trying to engineer a three-team deal that would put Francis alongside Kevin Garnett and Ricky Davis.

A long-shot possibility is Francis returning to Houston. Wednesday night's Orlando-Detroit trade removed the possibility of Kelvin Cato going to New York in a Francis trade, but the Knicks can still do a Hardaway-Francis deal by removing Jamal Crawford from the equation and substituting Trevor Ariza and rookies David Lee and/or Nate Robinson.

---------------------------------------------------
My Takes:

1) I dunno how Francis would work out, but even with his attitude, he'd be a great SG.

2) I know that the Rodman tidbit didn't mention the Nuggets at all, but I'm serious about this, if he was in shape, I'd want Kiki to bring him in. The Nuggets flat out refuse to rebound. I mean, Camby does his thing, but the rest of the guys refuse to crash the boards, box out, etc. We give up an obscene number of Offensive Boards. I'd love to give Rodman some time rebounding and playing defense for us, honestly.

I'm willing to put up with Francis if it gets Kenyon out of town. I've never been a Francis fan, but this is how bad I want Kenyon gone.

Ship him off and give Kleiza more minutes.

The thing about it is that I really did like him before this season. But now that he's shown that he's just another flake who's decided to half ass it after he got his big contract, I've completely turned on him.

Last night was just another example. Played 9 minutes, scored 0 points, grabbed 0 rebounds, dished out 0 assists, blocked 0 shots, guarded no one and then informed the coaches that he was done for the night. I don't see that getting any better as he gets older. If Isiah wants him, he can have him.

Lol, I checked the ESPN scoreboard on that game. When I saw that Martin only had 9 minutes and a bunch of zeros, I was like "ohhh dang, CO's gonna be PO'd about this." Heh...;D

If that happens I think you'll see an on court fight between teammates when Davis or Francis tries to pry the ball out of the others hands.

That would definately kill Garnett's hopes of ever being competitive. Garnett isnt Duncan. He cant lead mediocre players into stardom.

New York is reportedly trying to revive trade talks concerning Steve Francis.

Channing Frye and Francis would go to Denver, Kenyon Martin would go to New York and Penny Hardaway would go to Orlando.

The Knicks have been clear that they would be very reluctant to give up Frye in any deal.

Nothing is imminent, but it is being discussed

David Aldridge also reported that the Suns are looking to cut some salary to re-sign a couple of their current players and may be shopping James Jones.

Kiki should be all over this one. Offer them Vo Lenard for Jones. Phoenix gets an expiring contract and the Nuggets get a shooter. I checked it on RealGM and the trade works under the CBA.

Get it done.

I love new york, they're like the black hole of every underachieving overpaid player on the planet.

make too much money? good w/ the hoes? like being on a team with a bunch of other effortless hacks led by a point guard that has the ball surgically grafted to his hand every game?

Just checked this on the RealGM trade checker and this one works out under the CBA.

To Denver:
Steve Francis
Channing Frye

To New York:
Kenyon Martin
Earl Watson

To Orlando:
Penny Hardaway

There may be draft picks involved, but this deal would be acceptable if it were on the table.

Guys, if the Nuggs keep Dre and move Watson, they essentially make their team worse by further confusing the backcourt. Why not keep Watson and trade Dre if that's the case? They could definately get more in a package with Dre than they could with Watson.

Here's one that would work:

Miller
Martin

for

Francis
Jameer Nelson
Hedo Turkgolu

This trade gives Denver the two guard that they want to run the ball through, a nice young true point guard to develop with Anthony, and a 2/3 guard in Hedo that they can bring off of the bench for outside shooting. A good deal all around for Denver. I think that they would meet their needs in this trade a little more than Orlando would. Orlando would be unloading Francis and getting Miller. Martin would be a big name player. I think that Orlando might be attempting to shave off some cap though, and that's not happening in this trade.

Kiki tried to trade Andre to Orlando for Francis last year and Orlando wasn't interested. So that scenario doesn't work. It's also been reported that Watson is a player that Larry Brown covets, not Andre Miller. So swinging him to New York is also not a viable option.

Watson is the one who'll be dealt if there's a deal.

Uh....pull the damn trigger if that is the deal.

Frye and Mellow to develop with veterans Dre, Camby, and Francis leading the charge. If only they could rebound.

Isn't Francis a point guard though? Either way you have to do it.

Then maybe we can send Vo to Phoenix for James Jones.

Our roster would be:
Melo
Camby
Dre
Francis
Frye
Jones

I like it.

Nuggets Amazed By Nene's Recovery
17th February, 2006 - 4:03 am

Denver Post - The numbers are not what astonish Nuggets strength coach Steve Hess when he measures Nene's progress. It's that they're lower than they were on opening night, when the Denver forward blew out his right knee against the San Antonio Spurs .

Hess measures Nene at 264 pounds, with 9 percent body fat. That's down from 268 pounds and 11 percent body fat in early November, without a single full game or practice. It was enough for a Brazilian countryman of Nene's, Toronto's Rafael Araujo, to pull Hess aside.

"You tell me how many people doing rehab drop their body fat," Hess said. "The dude has abs. Araujo said, 'Yo, Steve, what are you doing with that cat?' He was freaked out. (Nene) looks unbelievable. His body fat is down, he's totally into it. He's restructuring his whole body."

The team has no set return date for Nene, but Hess believes Nene can resume practicing in early April. Though it may still be a longshot, it's not inconceivable to think he could provide a burst of adrenaline and needed size come playoff time, especially if Denver reaches the second round in May.

Reached via e-mail, Nene thanked Hess for his work and said of his rehab: "My goal has always been to get back on the court, at least practicing with the team, this season. I am working very hard to accomplish that goal. Once I am back on the practice court, we will see how I am from there."

Hess has worked with about 30 injured knees similar to what Nene experienced and said he has never seen a faster recovery. Nene spends between 90 minutes and three hours six days a week on rehabbing his leg, as well as the rest of his body.

In late December, the team measured the circumference of his leg at 3, 6 and 9 inches above his kneecap and found the thigh had atrophied by 2 inches. Hess said he had a similar injury and it took him two years to get his leg muscles symmetrical again.

"Raef LaFrentz and Eric Williams did a brilliant, brilliant job," Hess said of two ex-Nuggets he worked with. "But I've yet to meet a guy as absolutely committed as Nene."

Naw, Kenyon and Richard hardly even knew each other prior to Roby landing at CU. It quite a difference between the two as well. Roby does not carry that same same ghetto thug persona that Kenyon does. To me their similarities are they are half bro's and play BBall, that's about it.
