Sorry if this is a repost, but I like how it came out for us.

1a Kiwi
1b Chad Jackson
2 Brodrick Bunkley
3 Greg Eslinger

I know people here like Greg and I like Mark Setterstrom, who went one pick after Greg. My question is has Greg played guard at all or is he just projecting to be a G/C in the NFL? If its all the same I would rather not draft a G/C again. Hamilton is doing good, Sewel had other dreams and then we have Myers. Just seems like over kill.

I would be happy with that, but would prefer a real ROG rather than another swing guy on the OL.

Thats why I like Mark more.

I thought I would never see a three rounder without a TE or S pick for Denver.

I hate the Chad Jackson pick. This is a very weak WR class and I think we should use first round for OL or DL. If we need to, pick up a WR mid-round.

if the class is that weak then what good would it do to waste a pick on a worse WR later? I think Jackson is a pretty good player.

WR isn't our big need, despite Rod's age. I'd be satisfied with not taking a WR at all. However, if we do this, wait until the 4th or 5th rounds when there will be less risk in cutting a bust. Who knows? Maybe we can actually find a sleeper in the later rounds that other teams aren't concentrating their efforts on.

Passing on Hali would send me into a rant the likes of which you've never seen.

I always believe you draft with one eye on the future. And that would indicate we could/should look at a WR that has the possibility of being an outstanding WR in a couple of years.

I would not at all be dissapointed in a Jackson selection.

Well Crush, the Broncs don't agree with you. they have signed the two best unattached FA WR in Flowers and Kircus to contracts larger than anyone else would pay and are flirting with TO. While I don't agree, it looks to me like they think WR is their number one priority.

Very very little WRs make it if they aren't drafted early. Most of the best WRs in the NFL are first round picks.

i agree. ?If Hali is there, we gotta take him!!

I like that Bunkley pick, and Greg is a fav of mine, but as been said, that spot is kind of over kill for us, but its a start.

If you're afraid of drafting a bust, you shouldn't be drafting IMO. Busts will always happen, just nut up and take the guy.

I'm sure the Bengals are glad they did that and took Palmer, instead of trading down like they wanted to so they wouldn't take another Akili Smith.

Chad Jackson is so soft he makes Ashley Lelie look like a Hines Ward/Rod Smith-type tough as nails WR. He's the only non-QB I've ever seen do a baseball slide to avoid getting hit. If we draft Jackson I'll start my own Muslim-style cartoon riot at Dove Valley.

That's a good idea, but the WR depth in this draft is weak.

I think Jackson is the best WR in the draft. Even before he was rumored to be as fast as he was. The guy has everything you look for in a WR, sure he could be a bust, but thats a chance teams will have to take.

BB - how much have you seen him play? Why did Antonio Cromartie call him the toughest player he defended in college? In games I've seen, he went over the middle, sideline passes, deep routes - everything you want a WR to do.

What were his numbers in 05 SS?

FL WR's in NFL have not had the best track record. I like that he can do all different routes though but, still leary but, its only feb.

Numbers are tough to compare, as different systems, different quarterbacks, different opponents all skew any attempt of comparison. But since you asked, Paul, here they are:

88 receptions
900 receiving yards
11 touchdowns

Jackson's (and Chris Leak, for that matter) act in the 2005 Peach Bowl was one of the most pathetic and timid things I've ever seen from a football player. He looked like he'd rather be playing with Barbie and Ken than tackle football.

Great post, but I've seen a lot of wideouts use that slide. Some big names, too.

I still think Devoe has the tools to develop into the type of WR we need. Maybe it was foolish of me to say not draft a WR AT ALL, but I don't think we need one in the first round.
