Too me there is a bigger question than just the refs being bad. If it was simply that doesn't logic dictate that the bad calls would go BOTH WAYS? Instead we have every bad call go against one team. This isn't simply about bad officials. This is about NBA style BIAS officials. This is about the league sending an unspoken message to everyone that the more popular team receives favoritism. This is the a reincarnation of the NBA model. Marketing and promotion over substance and fair play.

God, I hope it never close to as bad as the NBA. Its the reason I stopped watching the NBA. That, and of course, all that Gangsta crap...

I stopped because travelling is apparently allowed.

I don't think it was allowed for everyone. I'm sure there was some sort of formula that gave each player a number of extra steps, fouls and illegal moves in general, depending on their endorsement value and the team for which they played, with extra bonuses for media darlings.

But it's so cool to watch a guy go from the 3-point line into the paint and dunk without having to dribble once.

Allowed? Heck, it's encouraged unless you are a rookie and have to maintain a three TO a game ratio in order to allow the Vets their creative License.

Truth. NCAA rocks. NBA died when Shaq entered the league.

Chuck Daly killed the NBA with the Thug Ball he coached in Detroit. He realized the referees wouldn't call a foul every single time down the court, so he had stocked his roster with goons like Laimbeer, Mahorn and Rodman.
He actually copied John Thompson's Georgetown model, in this regard.

But many teams seem to be following the NBA lead and becoming nothing but flava clowns

IMO the nba sucks from the constant calling of fouls on every trip down the court, and if you are kobe or iverson forget about it, all it takes is somebody to breathe on them, the refs simply call fouls when they think a foul is going to happen, the worst ever was karl malone--that guy got every call every game, no flow=BORING

Remember when you couldn't "palm" the ball? Palming was equal to a traveling penalty when I was a kid.
The NBA lost sight of that one too.

yeah, when i played i always got called for that crap.
The NBA has turned into a 1-1 matchup. Not team vs. team. ITs about one guy rying to score and everyone else watching. The good teams have ball movement, not a surprise there.

I really wish I could defend the NBA on this issue.
The officiating sucks, and "Superstar Calls" irritate me to no end, even when Carmelo gets them.

Thug culture rules in the NBA. Half of them think they are hard core gangsters or rappers or both. I love that they are trying to enforce a dress code now, and all the bitching that spawned.
