Olbermann awards two "Worst Person in the World" honors to Fox, one to recent CNN hire Glenn Beck
OLBERMANN: That's next, but first on for Countdown's list of today's three nominees for "Worst Person in the World."
Bronze tonight, Fox News Channel. This morning, after the president's tale about breaking up a terror plot to destroy the Library Tower in L.A.,Fox illustrated its coverage by showing clips from the 1996 movie, Independence Day, which simulated the destruction of the Library Tower by intergalactic aliens. Look, if you're going to whore out your channel to scare people on the president's behalf, at least save the Independence Day clips for when he claims he's only been eavesdropping on terrorist calls from outer space.
Tonight's runner up: this yutz, Glen Beck, again. After former President Carter's eulogy at the Coretta Scott King funeral, Beck announced on his radio show, quote, "Is there a bigger waste of skin than Jimmy Carter?" unquote. Beck is the guy to whom CNN just gave a TV show claiming he'll conduct a "conversation, not a confrontation." Punt. Punt now.
But the winners: back to the other guys. At Mrs. King's funeral, after Reverend Lowery made his remarks that "we now know there are no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq," those in attendance gave him a 23-second standing ovation. When Fox News Channel ran the tape of Lowery's remark, it cut the applause to nine seconds, and then Fox commentator Morton Kondracke came on and said: "The crowd did not go as wild as you -- as it sounded as though it did at the time and as various people have represented." He was surprised there was not more applause after they edited out the applause. Come on! It's journalism. Look it up in a dictionary. Fox News Channel: today's worst persons in the world.

Yeah way to go Keith. Don't dare stop talking about the competition which conststently kicks your networks ass. No don't focus on what to do to improve your networks ratings, keep talking about the leader, so more people might tune to that network to find out what the fuss is about. Oh, and look like a petty little man from a petty little network by whining about it. Same as that Donny Deutsch show, I turned that on, all they could talk about was O'Reilly. Oh well, if the only news they wanna talk about is their competition they shouldn't be surprised that their network is always in the tank.

I see that you going with the classic Karl Roe maneuver of attack the messenger vs talk about the issue. I love this one, will you follow up with the messenger is a fraud (swift boat attack) or the messenger is crazy (John McCain in South Carolina & his POW experience)???

No, its just that in my line of work for instance, we don't run down our competition in front of our customers. I think its cheap, dumb, small, and petty in every single line of work.

I actually watched the show a few times and he cannot shut up about foxnews or Bill O'reilly. He doesnt spend a large portion of the show on it but just likes to take a couple of jabs at foxnews. Of course everyone knows foxnews kicks his ass in the ratings so I suppose there is some jealousy? Anyway someone reported awhile ago that CNN ratings have dropped and Keith's show has actually improved. If this is true then he is just stealing viewers from CNN not Foxnews, PMSNBC sucks IMO.

It's just like Johnny Carson. Letterman and Leno, when you get a hilarious topic you run with it as long as it's a current topic. And FOX and O'Reilly give anyone new material daily.

Of course everyone knows foxnews kicks his ass in the ratings...
Are you sure about that?
Last I checked, Faux News and O'Liely's ratings were in a downward spiral.

Lou Dobbs (CNN) has been saying a lot of the right things re: border security, illegal immigration, outsourcing, corporate welfare, etc., lately.
