This is just my gut feeling, but I firmly believe that Owens could destroy the whole Broncos franchise if given a chance to. Did anyone think of what could happen to Plummer's psyche when Owens starts complaining about not getting the ball enough? Owens will never be satisfied with his contract. He's like Robin Givens and her relationships. Eddie Murphy to Mike Tyson to Magic Johnson and so on. As soon as some other WR is paid more money, T.O. will explode and the locker room won't contain the stench he brings. Another thing about Plummer and Shanahan. How long is the offense going to continue the playaction bootlegs and playaction fakes? Coaches in this league are starting to catch on to the Broncos schemes and Shanahan's offense is becoming far too predictable. When this happens, the RBBC goes nowhere and as far as I'm concerned Plummer won't take the Broncos to the superbowl. He still makes way too many mistakes and is not a pressure performing QB. Indeed he can scramble but the smart money says more guys like Troy Palomalou will have no trouble blitzing and defending against him.
No Owens, no Ricky Williams, and no trading Lelie either. Give Dayne the ball and let him run it as the starter. Even if the offense becomes predictable, everyone in College knew Ron Dayne was going to get the ball some time or another be it running or receiving. This issue is to stop him even though the other team knows he coming. The guy is more than capable of 1500 plus yards if given the chance to be the starter.

A new thread wasn't needed for this. This argument has been made ad naseum in the dozens of other T.O. threads. The Eagles fell apart because of a rash of injuries, not T.O. SF fell apart because of years of poor cap management, not T.O. I'm not saying his antics played no factor at all, but he was not the #1 reason those other teams fell apart. That is all media spin.

Yet another thing you won't see Plummer given any credit for. He's a team guy. He hasn't bitched one time since arriving in Denver. Plummer was mauled before he could throw the ball all day against Pittsburgh, and he never complained. He fought through it, and then took the blame for the loss after the game. (Even though he HAD to know it wasn't all him.)

If Owens started piping up, I suspect Plummer would just laugh if off. He's got the support of this whole team. Guys would run through walls for him. That's how McNabb screwed up. He started off handling the situation correctly, and then ended up stooping to TO's level.

Donovan is never recovering from this. Terrell Owens is naive but not stupid. He knows that his success ANYWHERE else makes the Eagles look bad. You don't think he's driven for a little payback? The public humiliation has definitely taught him a lot. Is he cured? Nope. He's still say something now and again that will get people worried.

Consider Randy Moss. Here is a guy who had a legitimate gripe and he said nothing all year. Cudos to Randy for being totally beat down, neglected, abandoned and yet true to his team.

Picking up players is like picking stock. There are only three kinds. Bulls, Bears, and Sheep. Sheep get slaughtered. Whenever you see a lot of sheep just run. My concern isn't what he will say during the week but will he do well for the Broncos on Sunday.

Get used to it. Everyone complained about Denver not getting any media coverage. If he lands here forget about it. We will be the most spotlighted team next year. T.O. talk has just started and it looks like it will be a hot topic for a long time.

Actually, that's not true at all. Not to bag on the guy, but to say he hasn't bitched, when he's had two altercations where he calls out the fans is revisionist history.

Now, both of them I can understand and dismiss as understandable frustration. But he's certainly had some things to say since arriving in Denver.
