View Full Version : Kenyon Martin and fan incident at Pepsi Center

Apparently last night early in the second quarter of the Nuggets-Bulls game a fan sitting just rows behind the Nuggets bench yelled "Hey Kenyon why don't you suit up? Chump!!" This apparently pissed off Kenyon and he stood up and attempted to indentify the fan, and threw a couple of expletives in for good measure. Well, that was not the end of it, Kenyon turned to one of his "boyz", that was sitting courtside behind the Nuggs bench, and told one of them to "Get that Mother****er". Kenyon's boy then proceeded to head into the stand behind him and seek out who ever said it. Apparently he got in the face of the wrong fan, and berated that fan for awhile before the fan could tell this cat that it was not him but the guy behind. Kenyon's boy pulls the same number on the fan that said it and says to him "to watch out or you'll get hurt white boy" or words to that effect. Kenyon's boy then says it's not right to call Kenyon "a punk" to which the fan responded "I called him a chump" This went on a little while longer before secruity made it down. The parties seperataed and no one was kicked out. The first fan that was berated by Kenyon's boy stayed after the game and engaged the Denver PD and the Head of Nuggets security. He told then of the problem and then Kenyon's posse returned to the floor and Kenyon told the man to "Shut up" and some other nice things. The fan then filed a police report.

This was all discussed at length on 950 the Fan this AM by the fan that filed the Police report, another fan in the area and Lodo Chad who had a buddy sitting in the area.

Unfortunately it's not hard to believe that a NBA player would send his posse into the stands to go threaten a fan. Kenyon has got to go. Oh, and one last thing...last night on the Nuggets post game show Sandy Clough called Kenyon "a detestable human being". Takes one to know one I guess.

Oh I would! Rich man with a short fuse, with our court system. You don't think someone sees that and thinks its worth the butt-whuppin to sue the guy for tons of money neither guy earned?

He's startin the downhill shuffle. Walking back to the locker room with three minutes left? I don't care if your ****ing knee hurts and you need ice, you don't leave your team. As much as I like kenyon, he needs to pull his head out of his ass, figure out how to keep his knees from going bad every other game, and play some ball.

I hope this doesn't end up like an antonio mcdyess type thing.....knees start hurting, we trade him, he ends up on a championship team kicking ass.

Go NUGGS!!!

STILL ON TOP OF THE NORTHWEST EVEN THOUGH WE LOST 6 OF 7!!!!!

Yeah right. Someone that can take a punch will certainly cat call him. Kenyon is waaaaaay to sensitive if being told to "Suit up chump" is getting to him. The fan did not curse at him, threaten his family or use any racial slurs. Kenyon's a douchebag. I hope his ass is shipped out ASAP.

I hope they trade him for someone who wants to play ball. Right now, it would be nice to have someone on the team who wants to play besides Melo and maybe Miller. If they trade Kenyon, I hope they send along Boykins as a grip for him.

Me too. I just read into that a little. The last thing a caoch is going to do with an oft injured player that they are trying to trade is come out and say he's does not like the way the player plays (Or in Kenyon's case doesn't play)

Not surprising. For being such a supposed tough guy, Kenyon sure is a sensitive cat. I remember last year during a phone interview on 950, Sandy Clough had the nerve to ask Kenyon a tough question and Kenyon hung up on him and hasn't spoken to him since.

They can't trade this loser fast enough. What a joke.

Look at the bottom right of someone's post, there's a button there that says Quote. Hit that and away you go.

Just to stay on topic, the guy in the stands should have told Kenyon's stooge to go fetch his boss a fresh Kotex.

Dan Issel's final game as Nuggets head coach. The team was in the tank, everyone was frustrated and things boiled over. Issel was leaving the court and some fan was giving him the business. Issel lost it and yelled at him, "Have another beer you Mexican piece of ****."

Needless to say this went over well with no one. Issel was suspended and eventually resigned.

Gotta Kenyon story that was told to me by an old roommate from undergrad.

Before he transferred to GW my friend went to undergrad up in New Jersey, not Rutgers but I don't remember where. He was taking something like Sports Marketing, or one of those other undergrad classes for kids who think they want to be big-time sports agents one day. Kenyon's wife was in the class, so the professor convinced her to get him to come speak to the class one night about what it was like to be a profession athlete. His entire talk was basically that everyone is only in it to make as much money as possible, and anyone who told you they were playing to win a championship was full of ****. The goal was to get paid as much money in as short a time as possible and screw everything else.
