Every mock or rankings list I've seen so far has Greenway ahead of Carpenter.

Carpenter had a pretty nasty injury. Should be fine by camp, but will knock him down the draft lists.

I think Greenway didn't live up to all the pre-season hype, AJ Hawk and the Penn St.er wound up with most of the accolades. I saw a few Iowa games this year and in the ones I saw he was mostly a non factor, Carpenter played well and really complemented Hawk. It is really hard to say how much of his good play was a direct result of Hawk. Before his injury he had good closing speed, tackled well, was bettter blitzing than pass coverage. I think the Pats might be going after Carpenter.

Is this even a discussion?? Wow, Granted I'm a huge HAWK fan, but Greenway is def. a better linebacker. The things they are saying about Greenway is the same type of things they said about Urlacher. He will have a stellar career in the league, and this thread will be a joke in a few years. Greenway is by far the better college player, and will be an above average pro. gO hawks, by the way, don't sleep on Abdul Hodge who might be the best middle linebacker to come out in a few years.

They're not very similar in their style of play so it's hard to compare. Greenway is the more complete player but I think Carpenter has better measureables and is equally in terms of athleticsm. Greenway covers better, Carpenter is better at the POA and at getting to the QB or ball carrier in the backfield.
