Yesterday, instead of watching the Superbowl at home or at a friends house, I went to a local sports bar with some friends to watch the Superbowl. It was a great time. Had the Broncos been playing, I probably would not have wanted to go out and watch it so I could "focus" on the real game!

The sports bar had all sorts of giveaways, a superbowl pool that benefited a local charity and they gave away some great prizes! My friend won a SNOWBOARD! A killer snowboard at that! She had so many offers to sell it. I got a couple of cool "girly" t shirts and a cool lighted shot glass. !Booya! It was fun to have fans from both sides there. Most everyone was in good spirits and not too many beligerent drunks. I did get razzed by a couple of gals that were cheering for the Seahawks. One gal asked me why would I cheer for the stealers when I live in the northwest...I should be obligated to cheer for the Northwest team. I just shook my head and told them football is not always about location...it's about QUALITY FOOTBALL! :D

Anyway, where did you watch the Superbowl? Did you do any fun betting, did you make any wagers on the game with friends or did you make/lose any vegas style bets?

We are working with the local sports bar to put on a March Madness final game party, so give me some ideas about what types of fun things you did for your superbowl? ^5

I watched at a sports bar. They were giving away all sorts of free crap. SOME of it was good, though. A friend of mine snagged a football with the Super Bowl XL logo. That was pretty cool...

I boycotted it... yes, I am serious. I could not stand to watch two inferior teams play in a game that we could have won. The last time I did this was Super Bowl 31.

Props to the Steelers, they did what they had to do, got hot when they had to and took it all... I can't wait for next season though. This is the most pumped I've ever been about an upcoming season. I need to cool my jets, the pro bowl hasn't even finished yet.

We were at a freinds house in Vail. The weekend was great with epic snow on Sat and Sun. The game, commercial and entertainment were subpar, but the spread at our friends was simply amazing. The appetizers were awesome but the dinner was amazing. Freshly flown in lobsters and beef tenderloin and all the fixins. I was over whelmed by the food.

Slightly off subject: Did anyone else have the "Who's playing today and what are their colors?" person at your superbowl party? Well, we did. The woman asks who's who and then seemingly not giving a crap about either team, then procedes to scream for everything that Pitt did. Like she was some die hard Steeler fan. I finfally had to go in to another room because she was driving me nuts. To top it off, with a couple minutes left I came back into the main room that everyone was in and the topic of MVP came up. I said it has to be Hines Ward, and that was greated by a "Who? I really think it should be Ben Rottensberger" I did not respond and left to go back to the other room. Any guess who said it should be Ben Rottensberger?
