Man, I don't miss this guy. I had forgotten how much I grew to loathe him for his touchbacks. Seriously, he has got to be one of the worst ever for putting it inside the 20.
Plus, he could NEVER put a lick on someone like Sauerbrun can.

I agree! I am suprised Rouen has lasted 13 years and he still doesn't know what a "coffin corner" is. He doesn't even try to get hang time.

Second that. He never even tried to hit the sidelines once - every one dribbled into the zone or landed there initially. What a lousy job.

You say that as if it was a good thing.

not a good thing at all and probably the reason he kicks everything out the endzone.

4 of Rouen's 6 punts were touchbacks. These were the bad touchback variety where he was punting close to the fifty and should have at least got the ball inside the 10.
Nobody will remember, but Tom Rouen had a large hand in this Seattle loss, along with the refs, Josh Brown, Jerramy Stevens, and bad clock management.

Swimmers have great legs.I saw Van Dyken a few times in Lone Tree when she lived there; she looks better in person, though no supermodel or Renee Herlocker.

Fuuny, My Dad is here from out of town, We were watching the game, I was explaining the Rouen touchback thing.
If he needs a 35 yard punt, he kicks it 50. Needs a 50, kicks it 35.
Right every time tonight.

Seriously, it makes me crazy.
I have two nephews that I play softball with every summer. They are both in their late teens, and everytime they come up, they try to launch it for the fences. It's a testosterone thing for them - they're just incapable of simply making contact. Inevitably, with the exception of about twice a year, they pop up, or hit a lazy fly ball into the outfield, and count as an out. They just don't get that we're better off if they just friggen make contact and get on base. Sometimes I want to kill them. They must be killed.
That's the way I always felt with Tom Rouen. It's like he's too stupid to "just make contact." He jogs off the field every time he puts it out of the back of the end zone, and I feel he is saying (in a Deputy Dawg voice), "Hey, did you fellas see that? I really whacked that one. Say, after the game, you wanna go chase cars, or somethin'?"

This is kind of funny, because Rouen set a SB record yesterday with a 50 plus average. Not sure how that happened, besides one line drive punt I saw go about 30 yards then got a lucky roll for another 30.

It was baffling. Even more baffling was watching Porter have his hand on the 20 and not being called offsides.
But can't you at least TRY to hit the coffin corner? His touchbacks went right thru the middle of the end zone and Seattle would get a 20 yard net on a turn of possesion! Sheez...just go for it if your only going to get 20 yards...especially if it's 5 yards or less. if it's 4th an 10 or more...less than ten, Mock runs the gauntlet on 4th.
At least TRY to hit the corner. That was just plain astounding.
