Ok poker players... We got a poker league planned out to keep us occupied over the Summers...
AK1971 will be the "Mod" in charge of the league, so direct all questions to him. I'll help where I can, but he's going to oversee the entire thing, and I'm trusting him to use his experience and discretion to keep things going smooth.
There is a lot of talk about where we should host it. Obviously we can't make everyone happy, but we've decided to use Full Tilt Poker to host our league. Please sign up using this link, as this is where the prize money is being generated from:

Andy (AK1971) will fill you in on the details, but here is the over view. We will have two "seasons" starting with Sunday, February 12. Each tournament, the winner will take whatever the pot for that tournament is, and also win a Denver Broncos hat, courtesy of the Orange Mane. Winning a tournament will also guarantee you a spot at the final table, for which everybody will be playing for the pot for that tournament PLUS an authentic personalized Orange Denver Broncos Jersey, again, courtesy of the Orange Mane.
This Poker Seasons Final Tournament winner will recieve a
personalized Broncos Jersey (http://store.denverbroncos.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1772024&sName=TACO+JOHN&sNumber=7&step=setCustomJersey&cp=716586)
with their username and number of their choice.

For some reason My % chart wont copy right..Please PM me and I can forward the right one (just line up the percentages under the player # amounts)
Orange Mane Poker Tour
Tournaments will be held at www.fulltiltpoker.com (http://www.fulltiltpoker.com)
BONUS CODE = "OMANE"
• Play will be in private tournament rooms under the name OM Poker (under tournament tab/ private)
• Game played will be NL Hold Em ($10+$1)
• Players will PM the moderator for the password to the event.
• Players will also PM their fulltiltpoker nickname if different from their OM nickname.
• Every player can play in as many or as few events as they choose.
• 1st Season will run from Feb to April, with two tournaments being held each month. (6 Tourneys and 1 final tournament)
Rules
• Every player in every Tournament will earn 2 Participation Points. (just for playing)
• The final 8 players (the final table) in the tournament will be awarded Placement Points as follows:
1st place: 100 points
2nd place: 60 points
3rd place: 50 points
4th place: 40 points
5th place: 30 points
6th place: 20 points
7th place: 10 points
8th place: 5 points
• Every event will offer a pool of 5 points for every player that attended that event. The top 33% of the total players will receive a percentage of the Attendance Point pool. For tournaments that have 24 players or less, this will be the top 8 players. For every 3 players over 24 in attendance, points from the Attendance Pool will go to one extra player (ie: 27 players pays out to 9th, 30 players pays out to 10th, etc.). The percentages are derived from the standardized casino tournament payout structure, and are listed below:
Player Finish 48 players 45 players 42 players 39 players 36 players 33 players 30 players 27 players 24players
1 35% 34% 34% 34% 33% 33% 32% 32% 31%
2 21% 20% 19% 19% 18% 18% 18% 18% 18%
3 14% 13% 13% 12% 12% 12% 12% 12% 12%
4 10% 10% 10% 9% 9% 9% 8% 8% 8%
5 7% 7% 7% 7% 7% 6% 6% 6% 6%
6 5% 5% 5% 5% 5% 5% 5% 5% 5%
7 4% 4% 4% 4% 4% 4% 4% 4% 4%
8 4% 4% 3% 3% 3% 3% 3% 3% 3%
9 3% 3% 3% 3% 3% 3% 3% 3%
10 2% 2% 2% 2% 2% 2% 2%
11 2% 2% 2% 2% 2% 2%
12 2% 2% 2% 2% 2%
13 1% 2% 1% 1%
14 1% 1% 1%
15 1% 1%
16 1%
• Attendance Pool Points for tournaments with less than 24 players will use the percentages for 24 player tournaments.
This method of awarding points is to ensure that the winner of a larger tournament is awarded more points than the winner of a smaller tournament, since it is more difficult to win a larger tournament, yet still provide more points to more players in a larger tournament.
• For example: Player A finished 3rd in a 48 player tournament and receives 2 Participation Points + 50 Placement Points + 29 Attendance Points, or 81 total points for the tournament. Player B finished 3rd in an 18 player tournament and receives 2 Participation Points + 50 Placement Points + 13 Attendance Points, or 65 total points for the tournament
Winning a tournament will qualify an automatic entry into the final tournament.
The final tournament will consist of these winners (6) and the top point leaders (12)
For a two table final tournament of 18.

It just makes it harder for us to provide prizes and continue the tournament in the future. The Orange Mane signed up as an affiliate, and we get a kickback for people that join. We're using a portion of that kickback to provide prizes for the tournaments, and the rest is going into the OMane war chest for the future.

FYI..regarding sign up and the bonus code.
When you sign-up, there is a clearly marked field where they can enter the bonus code. As soon as you enter your bonus code, you are tagged to our affiliate account. Please note, if a player arrives from your affiliate tracking URL or website link, then the bonus code field will be grayed out since the player is already tracked to your affiliate account. If the player doesn't arrive from a tracking URL or website, then you will only get credit for that player if they enter your bonus code.

Got to say this a crap choice.
The play money tournaments are the fewest I've seen on any site, it's a pain to navigate, and and it looks cheesy.
I won't be doing the pay-play but I'll be happy to sit@go tourney someone before I partial-birth-abort this app...

We chose Full Tilt, as they seemed to have the best affilliate program (better for the Orange Mane) I've been playing there for about 6 months now (after bodog went to a new crappy interface)
I've had no problem depositing money. (I use Neteller). They also have quite a few freerolls for entries into other tourneys and for cash.
Once we see how we all play I wouldnt mind getting a small crew together to do some of the team play over at pokerroom.com

You've done nothing but complain since the beginning...
Whats the problem with downloading the software? Full-Tilt accommodates Win/Mac/Linux...If its such a huge problem dont play...I mean all us Bronco fans are waiting to harp on the Chef fan on the table...but, if you complain about downloading a little progam to run and use to play tourney with people you have grown accustom to, then dont play...simple as that...Full Tilt is what TJ and AK have decided to use...if you dont like it...leave it...
I wish I was able to play in this weekends tourney...Hopefully playing on the live tables in Vegas will help ease my mind...
Good luck to all...

I've never actually played in a live tourney...besides with friends and that was no more than 16 or so people...I play the Full Tilt tourneys online cuz they are very convenient...I've won a few but they were kinda measley...
They have all kinds of live tourneys weekly here in LA at the Commerce Casino and the pay-offs are pretty hefty...My cousin won like 3 grand ($300 buy in) for finishing 31st...So, when I know I have enough time to enter their tourney, Imma hit it up forsure...

For those, like me that can't use their credit or debit card, here's how to deposit with Neteller and not pay any fees.
Click on Cashier and then click Deposit. Then select the Neteller box and then click on Open Account and follow the guide below. Make sure to stop and call neteller per the guide below.

Hey, don't feel too bad. I talked to a guy last night who hit all ten of his Keno numbers... Only problem was that his ticket was for the next game, and not the one that was currently in play. Can you imagine watching all ten of your numbers come up, only to discover after the fact that you had just missed the deadline for that drawing?

As of right now their software is still broken (can't deposit with debit or credit card) so you can use Neteller per the instructions a few posts above to have Full Tilt pick up the deposit fee.

Damn. I wanted in on this bigtime. Due to the time of this event, looks like I'm out. I'm guessing this is gonna take 4 hours or so to determine a winner judging by how long it takes to play my weekly tourney's at home with 8 guys.
My issue is that I get up for work at 4 am every day and with the tourney starting at 9:30 pm my time, I wont be worth a chit come monday.
Hopefully this is a one time starting time. If it is, I'll be in on the next 1 if it starts earlier in the day.

Being in Ohio it would be late start for me as well but right now I heard there was only like 5 or 6 guys registered. Say there's only 10-12 that should only take about hour hour and half right?

It depends. I play regularly on the weekend with 8 guys. It usually takes us 4 hours on average. I'd imagine online is alot faster but not that much faster. I'm guessing 2 1/2 hours. Even with it taking 2 1/2 hours, thats 12 oclock midnight for me and I have to be up at 4 am. Not good.

A dozen guys shouldn't take longer than 90 minutes or so. Tourneys on UB with 500 people take about 3.5 hours.

It depends who you are playing with. If you play with ultra aggressive bettors, then yeah, 90 minutes could do the trick. If you play with guys who only bet when they are in the blind, then you have a long game.
If it's mixed, 2-3 hours is about right.
My entire point is that 9:30 is right around when I'm falling asleep. If it only takes an hour it will be too long.

I imagine the stakes have something to do with it also. We play $50 buy in and $25 re buy for half the original chip count halfway through. Maybe the $600, winner take all pot makes guys more conservative.
This is only a $10 buy in right? I'd imagine I would be more aggressive with such a small pot.

I play 10 man tournaments on holdempoker.com, usually take 1 1/2 hrs or so,[like you say depending on how tight the players]. I haven't registered yet. Think I'll wait and see how many are registered by 8:00 or so and decide, gotta be at work at 7:00.
I'm not complaining about start time, I figure most of you are probably in different time zone. If I can't make it tonight I'll get in the next one.

I never really played online. Perhaps I'm speaking out of my ass as to how long an online tourney takes. I've never been intrigued to play a tourney where I can't physically see the other players. That's 90% of the game IMO.
Yeah, I'm in the minority when it comes to eastern standard time. I'd venture a guess that only 10% of this board is in the EST. The majority is either in pacific time zone or mountain time.

good times. I can break my game down in 4 intervals. First, got Bullets (that's Pocket aces) on a big blind and raise from 30 to 90. I get about 4 calls and only Small blind folds (im thinking "great all these calls, i am going to clean up alot of big calls or get screwed!") and flop comes out with 9 6 6. Lucky heads up guy only bets 30 (bymistake) on river after raising my bet on turn. I call small bet and sure enough he has King 6 suited and takes about half my stack. 2nd, i build up some chips by going all in on a king high bluff and same dude calls with nothing (HUH?), but now Full Tilt poker decides to shut me off for 10 minutes at least as my blinds are getting chewed away. Download it again and next up pocket 5s on big blind. I just decide to check but how nice another 5 for trips but two spades hit flop also. I bet out to see if there is either draw or top pair to nail em on turn (4th card out). Ace of spades hits (F**K!) but I bet to see if AK is playing the flush. He calls and then nothing for either on river. I bet big and he calls with a 9 in hands flush (TG he only calls as he figures i have a higher flush). I lose a crap load there. Finally, with 800 chips left and blinds at 100 I decide to go all in with AJ diamonds and hope to get one call or at least pick up some good fold bets. NOPE! Get called by myfirst nemesis with K Q (unsuited A J would get me about 60 to 40 % advantage). Nice flop again with queen and no ace or king to give me top pair of str8). I am toast and in 8th place. Im ready for next time. I cant be hit thatmany bad beats in one game. If so, let it be for 2nd place! Anyways, like mentioned b4, good times for maners. At least the Seahawk fan didnt win. If you havent signed up, get on it. I hope for at least 3 full tables in two weeks. More money.

I am only at Party poker & now full tilt. Let me know what you think you is best I have thought about moving out of PP but don't want to bounce around a lot.

How long did the tourney last?
The people who were having connection problems, do you have a slow connection, or is this something everyone at full tilt has experienced?
It worked fine for me. I have Comcast high speed cable so that helps I guess.
I guess it took about 90 mins or so

Question for my fellow Bronco gamblers out here. I used 5 dimes for my football betting this season (ended up +$900 for the season) and usually use pacificpoker for my real money card play. I've heard numerous people talk about bodog before so I went out there a few days ago and noticed they have poker tables as well. It would be nice to have just one place to do all my gambling. Have any of you used their poker tables and how do you like them? I saw a listing where they had bodog #3 out of a very long list. Thanx for the input.
I used to play on Bodog, it was pretty good for the most part. The revamped thier interface and I hate it. If you like to play a lot of tables at once its an alright interface. I think FTP has more in the way of satellites, guarantees, and many more freerolls to get you there. Plus I hope to get my hands on one of those Jerseys one day.

So the guy who put the whole thing together comes out on top huh? :poke:
I did pretty well actually, the 1st night I played and cashed out 638 over at MGM(sat down with a hundred)...the problem was that my GF had a blackjack addiction and basically spent most of my earnings...The 2 other times, didnt go as I wanted...The last hand I played in Vegas was horrible...I was on the 1-2 NL tables...the guy in front of me raised it to 12...another guy called and then I re-raised to 30 with pocket nines...I then got re-raised again, another 30...both me and this other dude called...The flop came out like 9-6-Q...So I had my set...the guy who was raising was 1st to act...he pushed in a hundred...the guy infront of me folded and I had about $55 left, so he basically put me all-in...which i didnt mind with my set of 9's...anyway, we turn up our cards...and he opens up Aces...which is what I basically put him on...4 street was a dud card...and what opens up on the river...sure enough another Ace...I was pissed...got up andl eft...the pot was pretty damn big too...he basically sucked it out on the river...horrible beat...overall though was a great weekend...
I did stop by the Caesars poker room...its very nice! its right by the sportsbook, and there is a little hallway you walk through then you encounter this HUGE ass room...they were packed too...this was Saturday night...I talked to the lady in the front and she told me they have a private tournament area...I'm telling you guys the place is HUGE! They had around 30 tables...next time I get out to Vegas...I'm going to play there forsure...
Next one is on the 26th. You in?
Yeah forsure!! What time?
Been there many a time myself man. Bad beat indeed. I played with 4 other guys last nt and had a really good nt. I was getting good pocket cards and hitting something on the flop almost everytime. I played river rat a few times too. :) I slow played them to death :)

Oh I forgot to mention that the Wynn poker room was very nice too...too bad the hotel is very overrated...The only thing I liked about the whole hotel/casino was their Ferrari dealership they had right infront of the main entrance...My girlfriend lost like 290 at the Blackjack tables...so my opinion is a little biased...;)

Yeah its part of the game...I just wish I had a picture of the guy who had aces, after he saw that I had trips off the flop...it was almost priceless...
I guess the same could be said when his Ace came on the river...

yeah, so do I. You know, I can't sit here and say I never suck out though, because I do. In fact, last night during a 20 dollar sit and go, I made it to heads up with this guy, called his all in he had ak, I had kj, and I hit a jack to beat him. I felt a lil bad for him, but thats poker, and I gladly accepted my 1st place winnings.!Booya!
Hey ak, I know omaha, but I cannot figure out hi/lo. I played it once(accidentally registered for the wrong tourney), and I hit a full house once, this guy goes all in I call, and we split the pot. I couldnt for the life of me figure that out.

Yea and I can see calling the all in. I would have absolutely hated it on the 1st hand but how many times are ya gonna have pocket rocket's and have the oppurtunity to double up and knock someone out? Good call but it does suck to get knocked out that way. But like you say, that's poker and horrible beats are part of the game.

There are a ton of split pots, and a lot of players staying in to the river. Heres how it works....
In order to have a hand qualify as low there must be no cards higher than 8 in your five card hand. A flush or straight is ignored when making a low hand. Therefore the lowest hand is A 2 3 4 5. Since in Omaha you must use two cards from your hand, there must be three cards on the board that are eight or lower. If there is no qualifying low hand the winner with the highest hand will win the whole pot.

Dude, you got what you deserved. If you figured he had a bigger hand preflop, pocket 9s are not that good. Anyover card can beat you, but his reraise on your big raise told you he probably has higher pockets. He hit his set on the river, but you should be mad at yourself. If he didnt hit his set, he would be steaming because you played a middle of the road pockets. Sorry but that hand was lost preflop.

Omaha hi/lo is great because you dont know if the guy is betting hard for his lo or has a better hi than you. Also, your lo must be best 5 cards (the wheel aka Ace thru 5 str8) your 5th card wants to be closer to 5 as possible. Great about omaha is your king high flush can be beat with ace high quite frequently (well not a ton but dont be surprised if it happens) and boats get beat by bigger boats more frequent. What you think is a good hand in hold em isnt very good in omaha. But it makes you think way more on outs and strategy.
