Eagerly anticipating this years tax returns, especially after the damage that the playoffs did to my credit card, i filed my return today.
I serve in the Navy, so my taxable income isn't very much. After adding the W-2 from my second job that i had for 5 months, it pushed me JUST over 20K on the year.
I figured, "Hey, i'm pretty poor! They have to give me some big cash back, alright!"
How much did i get back?
41 bucks!
You know what Sam, keep it. Because next year i'm going to have my own "home business" and wait til you see my list of deductions... :stirstir: I was going to play fair.. no longer... :charge:
Thank god for my beloved home state of Wisconsin who i gave much less to during the year and is giving me more than 12 the times the money back that the feds are giving.
Anyone with similar sentiments?

i dont make enough to get to riled up. Im poor
I'm thankful to be as blessed as I am ... money does not make anyone happy but the lack of it sure can make on miserable.
Of course, the AFC title game set me back a few $$$. At least the loss saved me from spending even MORE $$$ by trying to get to the Super Bowl.

No kidding, if they went to the SB, I'd be a poor MoFo. Those 2 playoff games cost me a small fortune to get 6 people there!

And now that ticket prices are going up (no surprise), next year will be even more costly. I guess I'll have to start picking up spare change I spot on the ground to make ends meet ;)

Collect tin cans too, recycle man!
Also on windy days, hang out by busy ATM's, I'm sure someone looses a grip on the cash every once in a while!

I claimed that I was a full-time student for 3 years after I was out of college. So...you know. Suck it.

Uncle Sam deserves to be in prison. He ****s us all in the ass without permission on a daily basis. Son of a bitch!

Apparantly Uncle Sam thinks I make too much money and don't pay enough taxes. So every year I dole out another 1200 to 1800 dollars in additional taxes every April. I'm tempted to not even file anymore!

turn of the 20th century there was a giant debate over gov't intrusion on the proposed income tax rate which started at 1% and went to 7% and even then only 1% of the population paid taxes.
the hike was debated as needed and that if taxes went to anything absurd like 12% the people would revult.
by 1954 the max tax rate was 87%
its much harder now to figure out exactly how much ur taxed, but if ur in the highest bracket its probably around 60%(if u consider all the ways the gov't takes ur money).
and of course america is one of the MOST capitalistic industrial nations in existance. Just to think of how much man power and productivity/efficiency/effort/talent is taken away from our economy lowering our standard of living to sustain the giant monstrosity that is our tax system makes me cry.
sorry, just passing time:)

Every year, I get a small refund from the federal government, but I end up owing the state. It's just a way of life for me...
