22. Mathia Kiwanuka, DE, 6’ 7”, 260, Boston College

Not much to say here. The DE the Broncos need.

29. Nick Mangold , C/G, 6’ 4”, 280, Ohio State

Will win a starting guard job out of the gate. Trains under Dennison and Nalen, then beats out Hamilton for the C job in 2 or 3 years. Pro Bowl center for ten or more years. The Broncos’ Logan Mankins (a lot of people said he was a reach last year, too. They’re not saying it now)

61. Babatunde Oshinowo, DT, 6’ 2”, 320, Stanford

A monster force in the middle. Pryce, Warren, Oshinowo & Kiwanuka. The Orange Curtain!

93. Mike Hass, WR, 6’ 2”, 210, Oregon St.

Another underrated/ignored player from the West Coast. Size, hands, route running, desire, intelligence and toughness. Some scouts have called him a “Hines Ward” type.

Comp. Brandon Marshall, WR, 6’ 4”, 226, Central Florida

A project. Impressive at the Hula Bowl. I remember a big, skinny kid coming out of Savannah State some years back.

Let's see how Hass measures at the combine - If he comes in at 5'10 and runs 4.8 as some say, he probably will not be drafted

For the record, Hines Ward, Ed McCaffrey, Terrell Owens, Antonio Freeman all got picked in the third round because they didn’t have blazing speed.

I would sub Hali, Wimbley, or Lawson for Kiwi. Otherwise, I like it. Oshinawa is going to be a stud in the NFL. Very underrated.

I really like Hass and I think he could be a great 3 receiver for Broncos. I also like Brandon Marshall which the Bronco could convert to te. I also like Mangold but I don't see the Broncos drafting him in the First because Nalen signed a new 3 year deal.Oshinoui would also be a solid pick. This draft is real deep at dt and I hope the Broncos draft 2 dt with one first rounder.

eh...

You can forget about mankins since we just resigned Nalen. I think we will get a guard later on in the draft (third rounder).

My thinking on Mangold. IMO, center is one of the most crucial positions on any team. Look what happened a couple of years ago when Nalen got injured. Nalen does his three years and retires. It takes about two years for a player to get up to speed on the Bronco's zone blocking scheme, especially at the center position. IMO, Mangold is a couple of notches above Hamilton in talent and could play guard immediately. It would be a smart insurance pick, plus a pick for an immediate upgrade to the line, plus a better Oline down the road. And, with Nalen signed now, it's the perfect time to take care of it. Like I said, IMO.

we may get a G in round 1, but my money is on round 2. eslinger, setterstrom, mangold or spencer. i'll be happy with either...or more.

Mel thinks he will have a good combine and become a first day pick

I like what Boylhart wrote about Mangold:

Draft Nick and forget about having to worry about the center position on your team for the next ten years. Nick can handle all the blocking assignments that are required of him in both the passing and running game for either the guard or center position. Nick is the best center in this draft because he can handle by himself a 340 lb DT right in his face all day long and come out the winner. He has proven it to me. Everytime he has come up against Marshmallow Man (Gabe Watson DT Michigan), he has beat him like a drum. I have watched Nick move and control Gabe all around the field like a brother dancing with his sister at her 13th birthday party to make sure the 18 yr old boys don’t get a hold of her. He is an excellent technician and I never see him over-extending to make a block. Nick has first round talent. I believe he should be picked before some of the higher rated OT’s in this draft, but he probably won’t be.

Mangold would be a nice pick but I would rather draft Spencer. Spencer was the best lineman at serior bowl and could start at rg right away. Spencer has a big upside and could be a pro bowl rg. If the Bronco do draft a lineman in first or second then Spencer would be my first choose. 22 Bunkley 29 Spencer 2a Drumvil 3a Oshinowo or Wroten 3b Marshall or Hass.

I agree on Spencer It would be nice to be able to move the DL out of the way on the right side of the OL.

29 is too high for Spencer and Mangold, imo. I would take either in the second, but I would much rather see us address the DL with both 1st rounders. I would take Hali, Bunkley, and Kiwinuka in that order at #22. If we got Hali or Kiwinuka at #22 I would take Bunkley or Wroten at #29. If we took Bunkley at #22 I would take Lawson at #29.

Hali/Bunkley would be insane but unlikely.
Bunkley/Lawson would be my second choice and a good possibility.
Kiwi/Bunkley would be third on the list.
Kiwi/Wroten would be fourth.

I'm in favor of maximizing our # of pix. with potentially 10 pix and a handful of guys we all seem to want that will be around in rounds 2 and 3, I say we conduct a series of trades to get us multiple pix in rounds 2 and 3.

I'd like to see us draft the best available at #22-Kiwi, Vernon, Hali, Santonio, Bunkley-whoever.

I want to trade our #29 for an early/mid #2 and #3. This gives us 2 in the 2nd, 3 in the 3rd and 3 in the 4th...assuming we get comps in rounds 3 and 4.

THEN, take our own late 2nd and a 4th to move up to the middle of round 2. We also trade our newly acquired early #3 and a 4th to move back into the end of round 2. This leaves us with 3 in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd and our comp in the 4th. we still have our 5th and 6th. total of 9 pix. 1 fewer than when we started. There is now ay we keep everyone we draft, but if we can land 6 in the top 3 rounds, we will have young depth at most positions.

i know it'll never happen, but i'd still like to see it.

I was actually thinking something along those same terms...move #29 back, and use the late round picks to add to the 2nd round picks. The 2nd round will be a better value round than it has ever been.

I wouldn't mind trading later picks to get another swecond rounder, but I want to take two first round guys. There aren't many chances to do that in this league, and I think we should take advantage of it.
