I would absolutely love if that is how the All-Star rosters looked. Partly because I really want Carmelo on the team, but mainly because I think you nailed it on both conferences. I really like what you did with the West, only choosing 1 real Center, as I think that's how it's gunna be. As much as I'd like Camby on the squad, the squad is much better served taking 1 true Center, and then filling it with Forwards, especially somebody like KG who could realistically play some Center. There's no need for a backup true center.
As for the East, I absolutely agree with the Chris Paul pick. Dude deserves to be on that team as a Rookie, no doubt. Definately like the Bosh pick too.
On a somewhat related note, I really wish the NBA would take away fan voting, but they never will. It's not that I want Camby on there instead of Yao or anything... It's just, Yao and McGrady shouldn't be starting this year. Dirk should be starting over T-Mac. As for Yao, eh who knows, Camby's been hurt, there aren't many true 5's in the West anyways, so I guess that's moot. My biggest problem with fan voting is that I was following the voting, and Amare Stoudamire was like, 5th in voting among PF's. Come on! I'm not saying Amare isn't great, he is... But he's hurt, and even if he got voted as a starter, it would be physically impossible for him to play. How can that many people be that dumb to vote for somebody who 100% can't play in the game?

Thanks for the compliments.
I think that Camby would have been a shoe-in starting center (not by fan voting) if he would have stayed healthy. IMO, he's been the best in the league this season. Yao has been injured as much as Camby has (I think), so realistically, Camby is just as deserving as the Chinaman.
On Paul...the dude can flat out play. Steve Nash, look out. I put him in the wrong conference though! The old Charlotte Hornets came back to sting me. I would still put him on the roster for the West and remove Ray Allen. I would put Mike Redd on the East in that spot.
On Stoudamire: I guess that this just proves that the all-star game voting is nothing but a bunch of uneducated fans reflecting what they see on television. It's too bad that what they see on television (ESPiN, etc) is a bunch of uneducated hogwash as well. It's like an incestuous cycle.

The fact that Artest has 500k votes is ridiculous. He played in what 20 games this year?

thats 20 more than amare has played in ;)
when you include fan votes, it always turns into a popularity contest ...

It shouldn't be fair to make the whole Pistons team play for the East.

I think fan voting should be limited to the people who are attending games.

Fans at the games aren't much brighter than the ones at home.

But at least there aren't a billion Yao Ming fans voting based on nationality alone at the game.

So why not limit it to US only fans?
I'm sorry, but the All-Star game is for the fans. If Yao Ming's country wants him in badly enough, I'm fine with that. It's when the reserve spots are screwed up that I have problems.

Yeah...Chris Paul definately deserved a nod instead of Ray Allen.

Biggest farce was luckily corrected when Arenas got put on the East roster.

Quoted for truth.
If it was just fans who went to games, Earl Boykins would be starting at SG.

I would love to see Eddie Najera in an all-star game. Just because he would probably drop an elbow on anyone that ballhog/showboated down the lane (Iverson).

Maybe a minimum number of games played then.

Maybe we just leave the system as is and fix some of the other problems (refereeing) facing the league.
