I'm more than a little concerned about our offensive line coach vacancy. Nalen coming back has taken some of the worry off. Rick Dennison was tutored by Gibbs which made me feel better about things. With that direct connection possibly severed, I'm wondering if we a decline in performance this season. Maybe I'm overly concerned. Please tell me I am.

From what I've read Dennison will still be coaching the Oline, but also getting more involved in play development, the passing game, etc.

Plus Dinger brought in his QB coach from NY to help on the line. Source the Dinger thread

Well that's good. I suppose with two guys sharing OC duties they shouldn't have any trouble also being position coaches.
Thanks for the heads up about the QB coach as well. I'm worried about that as well. Most people here hated Kubiak, but I believe he's directly responsible for Plummer's development.

Dennison will be responsible for the running game...Dinger for the passing game. I think Denver was planning on hiring an assistant to help Dinger with the line...

Dennison will be working with the former QB coach from the Jets. (Bates) He is a Dinger bring over. I'm assuming the guy is sharp. Any of the Jets or Titans fans will tell you wonderful thing about Dinger. The fact that he is going to coach the OL is comfortable for me. A lot of conversations are going to overlap and it's more based on synergy than on truncated titles. I think everyone is going to be very surprised about how things unfold from this. It should be pretty interesting.

You know what, I'm willing to bet that Gibbs can come back as a part time coach to help Dennison train the new oline coach.
Didn't Gibbs retire from the falcons?

Nope, he is part time with them again....

Gibbs should just freelance his talents. Then he can work when he wants and relax when he wants.
Still, if I'm the Broncos, and Gibbs ain't under some binding contract with the Falcons (being part time may give him leeway to work for other teams) I might make him an offer to work part time for the Broncos until a new oline coach is trained and knows the system.

Dennison's promotion was probably in name only, just to block him from leaving to the Texans. He will still handle the O-Line and Dinger will be making the calls from the booth. Who will be our QB coach? should be the question, Calhoun did well with Plummer and it showed on the field.

I am planning on bringing in Dampier and Diop as tackles. Dirk will play TE, Josh Howard will play WR, and Devin Harris will return kicks. Jason Terry will play corner opposite Champ...the Denver Mavericks :) !

I promise you that Shanahan isn't promoting anyone in "name only". Sure Wrestling is fake but you have to know something to get the crap kicked out of you in that game. Dennison is the OC. Believe it.
If Bates, a former QB coach, is working with the OL and Dinger, a former QB coach, is working the entire offense where do you see any real drop off?
Pat McPherson is the QB coach. He started that a three of years ago.

---This guy is all winner. Look at his resume. He's nothing if not consistent.

Oh I was thrilled to pick him up. I think he's one of the top three in the league.
Dennison and Heimerdinger are going to run the offense together (with some Shanny supervision), I think that much is clear. My bet is that Dennison will still coach the OL and now is going to include some RB work and will now be a major part in the offensive gameplan week to week. Heimerdinger will oversee the coaching of the WRs and QBs (TEs too but Brewster doesn't look to need much help there), as well as also being a major roleplayer in designing the week to week offense.
Having Nalen back is especially critical to the '06 team obviously, but with him back as well as still having Dennison I'm not real worried about the OL.
