Is this the 70s again? Russia flexing its 'missiles', whats next hostages in Iran?
MOSCOW - President Vladimir Putin boasted Tuesday that Russia has missiles capable of penetrating any missile defense system, Russian news reports said.
"Russia ... has tested missile systems that no one in the world has," the ITAR-Tass, Interfax and RIA Novosti news agencies quoted him as saying at a news conference. "These missile systems don't represent a response to a missile defense system, but they are immune to that. They are hypersonic and capable of changing their flight path."
Putin said the new missiles were capable of carrying nuclear warheads. He wouldn't say whether the Russian military already had commissioned any such missiles.

Russia and China can talk all they want, but if they're truly seeking world domination (there's a whopper of a premise for which you've provided no evidence), they're in for a heapload of work to make it even a remote possibility. They're both so far behind the US in the foundations it takes to make a global superpower that I don't fear all their rattling wheezes at all. Besides, if they make the changes their respective systems absolutely require to even begin to compete with the US, what they'll end up looking like is nothing at all like they are now.

Any example would be the 120 pound kid who used a crowbar as an equalizer while beating the crap out of the 250lb man. Or in this case the 120lb man who used a 100lb nuke to beat the crap out of the giant nation.

Putin is a big talker - and don't ever confuse the stuff he says with reality. My guess is that he was puffing up for domestic consumption, to try to bolster the morale of the Russian military and people. Remember, these guys can't even handle the Chechnyans.
Besides, that article about the Russian/Chinese alliance was months old. The two of them can talk all they want about how they want to challenge the US, but they're eons behind us. Their atrocious governments and economies are their biggest problem, which we do not have.

Anyway, I don't believe either Russia or China (or Hamas [!]) has what it would take to seriously challenge the US' dominance, and, if they changed themselves such that they could actually do so, then we would have far less to fear from them. Can you connect the dots of my argument?

I see what your saying. They would become advanced and coultured blah blah blah. That really only holds water for free thinking populations. See Hamas would love to cut your balls off and kill your family because you dont accept Allah and their religion. You cant count on these religious nuts to respond to your American way of thinking. Is there something inherent in Islam or those who believe it (particularly Arabs) that makes it impossible for them to come to accept the ideals we do? If so, could you care to illustrate those factors?
Remember, it was only because of Islam that the knowledge gained during the era of the ancient Greeks survived, because Europe was in its Dark Ages. I don't see Islam itself as a threat - any more than I see Christianity in and of itself as a threat, because of idiots like Pat Robertson.

Hey if you wanna live in a mud hut with neighbors that are taught to convert or kill you more power to you. Just remember these peace loving friends of yours get 72 virgins for blowing you and your familys arses up. Im betting they would chose the virgins over losing you as their neighbor.
