ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry was arrested on gun charges in a weekend street altercation, authorities said.

Henry pulled a 9 mm pistol on a group of revelers early Saturday, according to a police report. An officer directing traffic aimed his gun at the 22-year-old Henry and ordered him to drop the pistol, the report states.

Henry froze, then moved toward a limousine in the street and threw the gun inside the car, the report says. The officer pulled Henry away from the limo and pushed him to the ground, according to the report.

Police said Henry, who still faces drug charges from an arrest last month in Kentucky, appeared to be preparing to fight with a group on the sidewalk.

Officers found a 9 mm Luger on the back seat of the limo and a loaded magazine in a gutter where Henry was standing, the report says. The Pasco County Sheriff's Office had listed the gun as stolen, the report states.

Henry was charged with felony counts of possession of a concealed firearm, improper exhibition of a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm. He posted $3,000 bail and was released later that night, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said the team had no comment Monday night.

Henry was charged with two counts of marijuana possession after a traffic stop Dec. 15 in Covington, Ky. Those charges are pending.

Henry had 31 catches for 422 yards and six touchdowns in 2005, his rookie year out of West Virginia. The Bengals took him in the third round, hoping he would outgrow the problems that accompanied him in college.

In his last season at West Virginia, Henry was ejected from a game against Rutgers for two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, prompting Mountaineers coach Rich Rodriguez to bench him for the first half of the next game. Rodriguez told Henry that he had embarrassed himself and the program.

This kid is messed up. I hope he gets himself under control before he's in jail or dead.

I don't care what happens to him. Jail seems like a good place for him.

Some of you guys make it sound too simple: Give a guy a chance at a couple million green and he'll leave everything he's ever known behind.

I feel for the kid and the others like him. They grow up in a way that seems unreal to most of us and then they act out in ways that we see as equally unreal.

Thank God no one offered me hundreds of thousands of dollars and the promise of more when I was a young man. I'd more than likely be dead by now.

Maybe he and Sean Taylor can be cell mates.

Yet others come from the same ruined urban centers and don't brandish loaded guns in public. In fact, most of the people who live in high crime areas are not violent criminals. Most of the residents who are violent criminals go to jail, unless they're famous athletes. After they skate, Dan LeBetard gives their image a spit shine in ESPN the Advertising Circular and all is well until the next time they show up on the police blotter.

Plenty of more deserving people out there for me to wring my hands about than these miscreants.

If some jury and judge made an example out of one of these jagovs, we might see the next out of control athlete think twice before he endangers his fellow citizens.

I look forward to that day but I don't see it coming anytime soon.

The DA in the Taylor case is trying to stack charges in hopes of forcing a plea bargain. Not a chance in hell his attorneys will buckle, though.

Of course not. Celebrity - Accountability = Reality

It's a shame, but it's the world we live in. I just saw a feature on Nate Newton last night. The ****er got busted with over 200 pounds of weed, gets out and while he's awaiting trial for that one gets nailed with another 100+ pounds of weed. How much time did he spend in prison? 2 1/2 years.

If that's an ordinary Joe Schmoe, they lock his ass up and throw the key away.

Sure pity the idiot and kind like him. I always heard, "if we just had a job or money, things wouldnt be bad." Full of crap. Like bad cats, they cant change their stripes. If you are a thug, then dont think they can change regardless of money or stability. LOSERS!

I expect Marvin Lewis to overlook this as well since he's made a habit of doing this.

Great Defensive coach, but a p***y.

Was just about to say that, just a matter of time.

Having 2 cousins at WVU, I heard the stories that they told and I knew it was coming, same with Pacman Jones.
