I've been wondering, a city that is hosting the Super Bowl, Miami, San Diego, or the other cities that host the big game, will we ever see that cities NFL team breakthrough and make the Super Bowl and play on their homefield?

I think it will happen one of these years, not sure when.

Statistically is a certainty. Just a matter of time.

So is winning the lottery, if someone picks the same numbers every week and lives long enough to play every combination (3000 years or so in some instances).

Picking the same numbers has nothing to do with it. All you need to do is play the lottery every week for 3000 yrs or so. The lottery has the same odds of hitting the same exact numbers it was the week prior as it does hitting any other particular combination

Do you have a background in statistics?

The Saints, Bucs and Chargers are largely responsible for a team never playing a home Super Bowl. New Orleans (9), Tampa Bay (3), and San Diego (3) have hosted 15 Super Bowls and their teams have only played in two. The city of Miami has hosted 8 Super Bowls and the Dolphins have played in 5.
