I think I may need a support group or something. I am addicted to the ultimate cheeseburger at jack in the box. I really cant figure out why I like this burger I just find myself driving there at odd hours of the day to eat one. Sometimes the urge hits me at 2 in the morning and off I go. At 1120 callories I know this cant be good behavior. Anybody know of any support groups out there to help me with my new problem ?

Don't forget the bacon. Seriously, the Ultimate Cheeseburger is awesome. In my fatter days, I was eating those quite often. I noticed all the J in the B's in CO are closed. I worked at the one on 72nd & Pecos back in the day.

EDIT: BTW, these guys REALLY love hamburgers!!

You could try aversion therapy. Go to the nearest hospital and peek into the coronary care section of the ICU.

There is a place in Colorado I got hipped to on...of all places...The Orange Mane.

Old School Hamburgers - EXACTLY like In and Out Burgers. 518695 East Stage Run Road. It's in a little plaza right on the corner. They have a baseball theme there.

Do not say Quiet Tiger sent you. They will look at you strange and probably say something like "Dirka Dirka Jihad?" Ignore them.

Actually, the BEST Taco John's is in Buffalo, WY. I agree that the ones in Colorado aren't nearly as good. And, as you say, the one on North College sucks bad. The one on Horsetooth (i think that's the second one you mean, there's no TJ's on Troutman that I know of) by the mall is okay, but they skimp on the sour cream.

My buddy and I used to go to this lame excuse for a Broncos bar some years ago. Some Irish/Mexican thing, Carlos Murphy's or Pedro McGillicuddy's, I don't know. We ordered a pizza with pepperoni and anchovies and they said they don't have anchovies. The following week we ordered the same thing and handed the bartender a jar of achovies. Came out alright.

I was in that craphole dive when TD blew his knee. I threw ten bucks down on the bar, walked out and never came back. I wanted to smash a stool into the face of this dickhead Jet fan on the way out the door, though.

I first discovered jack in the box when i went to las vegas, i never hit the buffets after that, i even took four of them home back to colorado, i froze them, I lived in Dallas for a while and luckly there was one only a block away, then last year i was in NC and threw down as many i could in the three days i was there. i think the only way i can survive without it is by the Carls Jr substitution, i know those things have already cut off about 6 years of my life but oh well I have already lived to see the Broncos win a Super Bowl, what else is left?

I prefer barbeque to burgers. It's actually better for you if you do it right.

Fuddrucker's introduced a Buffalo Burger awhile ago that is supposedly better for you. I would rather have a good salad than eat that burger. Tofu burgers? Oh man! What are you doing! Just go get what you really want!

Mayo is supposedly the killer. A dollop of Mayo has about 9 million calories and could feed a small family of third world nationals. A burger by itself is never bad it's more than 16 ounces (instead of 3 ounces) of meat, the deep fried fries, the high calorie tasty shake, the bread, the mayo, the piping hot apple pie....recipe for a food coma.

No more Jack in the Box for me. I get sick even thinking about that place. Last week I had a Jombo Jack. A couple hours later my stomack started to hurt a bit. I thought it was just stress. Running my own business has been stressing me out, then the Broncos blow the title game.

The burger I ate tasted a little different than it normally does, but it wasn't bad, so I didn't think anything of it. When I got home I had the runs. Then I could just feel the food ready to come up. Man I threw up five times. I could barely walk. Was was worn out just walking to the bathroom. I've never thrown up like that. I didn't feel good for another day.

F#@% Jack and his box. I should have gone to the hospital, then I would have been able to sue that bastard.

The one in Victorville is right off the 15 freeway & main st. . Coming from L.A. after you go up and over the cahon pass its about 5 miles or so to main st. I believe if you wait to see in & out burger than you missed the exit , because the overpass kind of blocks it from view. I think their billboard sign blew away from the high winds we get often here in the high desert.

It's still there and they have expanded they have 4 locations in the Springs and one in Pueblo, the burgers have gotten smaller and the quality is cheaper, they try to make up for less patty with more lettecue, almost a salad's worth. The last time I was in Vegas there was a bar off the strip close to Fremont St. that served burgers the size of a manhole cover, If you could eat it in a certain amount of time you would win cash prizes 1st place was 5000 bucks but you had to eat the burger in 4 min. I took the challenge and finished one in a hour, I didn't win any cash but our meal was on the house. Needless to say the rest of my day walking the strip going to casino to casino was one of the worst days of my life.

I remember a "Hamburger Stand" that had decent little burgers for like 49 cents. Diagonal across the street was a decent Denny's style restauant that succumbed to that tornado about 15 years ago.

Went paintballing for the first time this past weekend... as it turns out the term paintballing is sometimes quite literal .. like when i took a shot off my right "hanger"... i had to leave early because it was too painful to walk.. HOWEVER.. i DID manage to get a little lost on the way home, and because of that i came accross a Jack in the Box.. Instantly remembered this thread and said to myself.. I must try this... along with 2 tacos.. mmmmmmmmmmm

anway, hamburger was great, except i should have gotten it with bacon. But all in all a very satisfying burger.. I also went to Carls Jr. and had their double six dollar burger. Not as tasty but a very big burger. Boll Weevil is next. I'm thinking the double steer burger.

Don't forget the bacon. Seriously, the Ultimate Cheeseburger is awesome. In my fatter days, I was eating those quite often. I noticed all the J in the B's in CO are closed. I worked at the one on 72nd & Pecos back in the day.

EDIT: BTW, these guys REALLY love hamburgers!!

http://ahamburgertoday.com/

I work for a company that supports some of the infrastructure at J in the B corporate and I was talking to one of the folks there a few months ago. I asked her why there were no more J in the B's in Colorado. I remember them when I was a kid...I used to love their milkshakes. She said that all the J in the Bs were in CO were owned by one guy and when he retired all the stores closed with him. Corporate decided not to reopen any more here.

Sad loss. Very sad.

CHEESE FRIES WITH BACON SPRINKLED ON TOP. That's my addiction. The only cheese fries i've had that were better are when i was playing softball out by wads and kipling (or hamden, i can't remember). I think the burgers I make on my own grill kick the crap out of most everything out there.

I like grinding up three different types of beef and adding in the three kinds of peppers, onions, a dash of cayenne pepper, a whisper of celery salt, some worchester sauce while I'm grilling it at a high heat. Do not overwhelm the meat with garden stuff.

Pow!

Serve open face with thick sliced deli cheese (Provalone and Sharp Chedder) on a whole wheat bun dressed with garden fresh tomatos, garden fresh lettuce, (from a real garden) No condiments.

Side: Grilled thick sliced hickory bacon, saute onions, saute mushrooms and roasted peppers. Mmm. Try one.

Charcoal not gas. Mesquite wood only.

Why deep fry your potatos? Bake them them, slice them and roll them in seasoning salt and rebake them. Saute on a dry grill to heat. Tasty.

Hey! What's that in the blender? Mmmm. Shakes (Vanilla and chocolate premium ice cream with a splash of organic vanilla extract) made with a shot of 150 dark rum, shot of 150 "white lightning" and a chocolate liquor.

Add several smart looking couples who took a night off from the kids. Get out the good paper plates and chill with conversation about anything but Iraq.

Poker party and cigars afterward....followed by "Ya'll come back now Y'hear?"

When you rip this off be sure to mention your buddy Tiger hooked you up. Some where in the cool universe cool points will be registered. Just remember good conversation is what makes the meal that much better.

In January of 1993, doctors at a hospital in Seattle, Washington, noticed that an unusual number of children were being admitted with bloody diarrhea. Some were suffering from hemolytic uremic syndrome, a previously rare disorder that causes kidney damage. Health officials soon traced the outbreak of food poisoning to undercooked hamburgers served at local Jack in the Box restaurants. Tests of the hamburger patties disclosed the presence of E. coli 0157:H7. Jack in the Box issued an immediate recall of the contaminated ground beef, which had been supplied by the Voris Companies, Inc., in Arcadia, California. Nevertheless, more than seven hundred people in at least four states were sickened by Jack in the Box hamburgers, more than two hundred people were hospitalized, and four died.

That used to be great when it was a little dive 30+ years ago. Quality of the food went down when the quality of thw facility improved.

Here's the beef, but burger will set you back a Benjamin

BY BRIAN SKOLOFF
ASSOCIATED PRESS WRITER

The Old Homestead Steak House in Boca Raton unveiled its $100 slab of ground beef, billed as the "beluga caviar of hamburgers," Tuesday. The burger combines the most expensive beef from the U.S., Japan and Argentina.

BOCA RATON - A hundred bucks might buy you more than six dozen cheeseburgers from McDonald's but none will compare to the one brawny beef bucket introduced Tuesday in the swanky Old Homestead Steakhouse.

"Delicious . . . messy . . . worth it."
Boca Raton Mayor Steven Abrams could barely speak between bites as he devoured the 20-ounce, $100 hamburger billed as the "beluga caviar of sandwiches."

The burger debuted Tuesday at the restaurant in the Boca Raton Resort and Club, where a membership costs $40,000 and an additional $3,600 a year.

"We've never had a hamburger on our menu here so we really wanted to go to the extreme," restaurant owner Marc Sherry said, calling it "the most decadent burger in the world."

At about 5" inches across and 2" inches thick, the mound of meat is comprised of beef from three continents - American prime beef, Japanese Wagyu (Kobe) and Argentine cattle.

"Heaven on a bun," Sherry said.
At his New York restaurant in 2002, Sherry debuted a $41 Kobe beef burger and a year later unveiled the $19 foot-long 11-ounce Kobe beef frankfurter. The restaurant also has a location in Atlantic City, N.J.

For Tuesday's debut, the beef arrived at the restaurant in a chauffeur-driven black Hummer limousine and was carried out in packaged slabs on the shoulders of chefs.

In the kitchen, workers sliced the meat into two-inch cuts and pressed them into a grinder, producing a velvety red and white pile of ground beef.

Each saucer-shaped mound was sautéed without seasoning in a pan with grape seed oil for about five minutes on each side before being finished in an oven at 375 degrees.

"We let the meat do all the talking," said assistant chef Joseph Galison. "You really don't need to add any spices at all."

The meat is flown into New York about every three days and shipped fresh to the Boca Raton restaurant, Sherry said.

The bill for one burger, with garnishing that includes organic greens, exotic mushrooms and tomatoes, comes out to $124.50 with tax and an 18 percent tip included. But don't think you're eating lavishly without a cause. The restaurant will donate $10 from each sale to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida.

"They don't serve these things at McDonald's, I can assure you," Abrams said.

The meat is also available via mail. Sherry said orders for the burly burgers have already been placed by 1960s crooner Paul Anka and former Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth.

The most expensive hamburger commercially available is the $120 db Double Truffle Burger served at the DB Bistro Moderne in New York City exclusively during the black truffle season, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.

There's a picture of the burger if you click the link. It looks good, but $100?

If you order this beast medium rare, how the hell does your bun not get soaked and fall apart?

Even if you dont like them... the food is outstanding, the price is good, and you will get some many fries, a 20 year old offensive lineman eating to gain 50 lbs couldnt eat em all.

Believe it or not but true story. I work at a Country Club in Memphis. Yes I flip burgers for a living. But it sets you back 7 dollars. yet Jerry West (at the time I didn't have a clue who he is I am sports illerate). Anyhow the logo of NBA and the GM of the Memphis Grizzlies anyhow he said that the burger I cooked him was the best he has ever had in awhile. It didn't register b/c I didn't know who he was until later. So there when I applied for the job i said I have had no grilling experience and yet boom Jerry West approves of my seven dollar burgers. I make mean rare, mid rare, and medium burgers other then that you have to say burnt, no pink etc, after five years there no one has ever order a rare burger from me.

classic.

funny stuff my friend.

as everyone knows, there is no jack n the box or in n out in colorado.
well, goose gossage wanted to change that (with in n out).
after years of trying to open an in n out and being turned down, he decided to just make his own. its called "old schools burgers", and the burgers are JUST like in n outs, but actually a little better.

i get a craving for those constantly, and have to go at least once or twice a week.
two double doubles or one quad and im satisfied.

as for the ultimate, its a good burger too, but not in n out standards.
the only other burger that competes in my humble opinion is original tommys burgers with extra grease (theyll actually scoop grease off the top of the chili vat if you ask them!!). YUUUUMMMMMMY!!!!

what i miss from jack n the box is the tacos.
i LOVE those fried tacos.

okay, im hungry.

i also dont see the problem indulging your cravings.

im tired of everyone telling us we need to be healthy all the time.
everything causes cancer anymore.

try to take care of yourself as best you can, and in between eat your heart out and enjoy life!!

i get a craving for those constantly, and have to go at least once or twice a week.
two double doubles or one quad and im satisfied.

as for the ultimate, its a good burger too, but not in n out standards.
the only other burger that competes in my humble opinion is original tommys burgers with extra grease (theyll actually scoop grease off the top of the chili vat if you ask them!!).

Well now I am living in China so there are no more ultimate cheeseburgers to eat... Why did this get bumped by the way???

Have to cut out all fast food junk, my biggest weakness.

I love Georges Burgers Gyro Burgers, but you always have to remind them to give you a cup a sauce even if you tell them WITH sauce. I always order onion rings with it and they give you a ton.I usually dont finish it all. Anytime I go to jack in the box I usually order sausage breakfast jacks, ultimate bacon cheeseburgers or Tacos.

Don't know if it's been said yet by 5 Guys is a damn good burger joint. My wife is ga ga for their cheeseburgers and they have the best french fries for a "fast food" joint that I have ever had.

Man, you guys didn't miss a beat! Only one person questioned why a thread last touched over two years ago was bumped? Amazing. This is why i post here. Long after Romanowski becomes coach and forces me to become a bengals fan i will still post here.

Just think about what Romo would do to you if he saw you putting the food referenced in this thread into your body.
