Well Well, the countdown to NFL Draft 2006 has started, and for many of us Bronco-holics it can't come soon enough. Especially this year with the 2 first round draft choices, and the abnormally deep draft.
Curious to see what everyone's REALISTIC dream draft would be this year.
I'll get this party started...
With the 22nd pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select:
Santonio Holmes, WR Ohio State
With the 29th pick in the 2006 NFL Draft the Denver Broncos select:
Tamba Hali DE Penn State
I am sticking in the Big 10, with these 2 play makers. Holmes is going to be a pro-bowl WR some day and has the speed to get deep, and the toughness to go across the middle. Hali at #29 would be a gift if he pans out. Denver needs someone to collapse the pocket consistently.:strong:

I think we could be better served going after a free agent receiver. Lets go defense even if we have to make a deal.

Denver trades both 1st rounders and Mike Anderson to Green Bay for the #5 pick.

I heard you say that in the other thread but what makes you think Green Bay is so hi on the Marine?

They need a tough back, and would probably have a larger need for 2 firsts. That's the basic logic.

I agree I think we can do much better in free agency.

I just don't see how two late first rounders get you into the top 10. That's not something that typically happens.

We might as well bag the first round WR talk. We all know that TO is going to end up here whether we like it or not.
I'd take Tamba Hali and Daryl Tapp. Tapp could be a passing down DE until we convert to the 3-4 where he could transition to LB. That may seem out of the blue, but I think we're going to go 3-4 within a couple of years and we need to start laying a foundation.

On the point based system Denver's two late first rounders are worth a #8. Shanny has already stated he would consider trading them for an 8 or 9, the question now is whether said teams would be interested

So you're basically trading 2 1st round picks to the Packers. MA is pretty much worthless in a trade.

2 Buffs? I don't think that's allowed. Denver hasn't taken a CU player in the draft in like 20 years and now you want 2 in the same year? Baby steps. Bloom this year and then Crosby next year.
Denver trades both 1st rounders and Mike Anderson to Green Bay for the #5 pick.
to pick whom?

It depends, obviously, on who's on the board. If they make the trade when the #5 pick is up to move up to say #8, that'll mean that they have at least 3 players they like that are still available. I doubt it'll be a trade that gets done before the draft starts, unless the players 1 - 5 are pretty much pegged.

That'd be amazing at this point, but it will never happen. Lawson has potential and size, his workout numbers will probably be great.

It doesn't matter what we think anyway, Shanny is going to do something completely different come draft day. He ALWAYS does something different on draft day.
Probably just to spite us.

Sounds good to me. But I doubt GB would bite on it.

Any two of these players in the first.
Rodrique Wright, Brodrick Bunkley, Claude Wroten (fi not in jail or going to jail), Mathias Kiwanuka, Tamba Hali, Darryl Tapp, and Manny Lawson.
2nd Greg Eslinger
3rd Daniel Bullocks- I hope he lasts that long
3rd comp- Mark Setterstrom
4th Mike Hass
4th Travis Wilson
4th comp ? Bloom?
5th Josh Betts
6th Anthony Mix
Maybe not sexy after rounds one and two but atleast it has a chance of really happening. Wilson might be on the rise though. 3 WRs in the 4th should give us a nice battle in camp!
