I know we have great backs in Denver coming into next season. But each year in the draft it seems Shanny alway picks a rb. Who do you think we get. I'll start by saying I can only wish we trade both our first round picks to get Reggie Bush, but that's only a dream thing. Im thinking two people. one is cory ross from Nebraska. I know he's small, for those of you people who don't know him he is "Q Tip" small, but he is a lot tougher than griffin. He is in the top 10 back all time in nebraska and that's a select group. He is very fast and cuts like crazy. Lee Coso compared him to Barry Sanders. He also can make plays when you throw him the ball. He had 392 yards recieving last year, had 972 rushing with turf toe and a very horrible line. He grew up in Denver and his idol is Terrell Davis. (Im a Nebraska fan if you can't tell.)My second person is Lendale White. The guy is big, and fast for his weight, and hits the hole hard. He can play big in big games, and clearly outplayed reggie bush in the championship. Im really hoping we draft White because the guy is a beast. The guy had 1300 this seoson and was the back up to bushwacker. that's just simply amazing. anyway what RB(s) would you guys like to draft?

You never know with Shanny what back he likes. CowBell still has low miles, and so does Dayne...MA is the high miler...I think we have other issues than RB early. I'm still hoping Bell wakes up. Another year in the system who knows with Dayne. He didn't look to shabby to me.

I don't want another studderer tiny guy back there like Q or even Barry. Give me a guy with tree trunk legs that has decent speed. I don't have time to watch much college football so I don't know any names but another one cut tough kid with decent speed would be cool.

Bell could be a beast, it seems like he holds back for some reason, but his vision needs to get better and he needs to hold on to the ball. Dayne has done well when given the opputunity and I hope we keep him. Mike is old but he dosn't quit.

DeAngelo Williams might slide down to us since he lost 2 inches and is now 5'8. But do we really want another 5'8 RB? He did have a damn good college career though...

Obviously it is early, but I have read (pfw) that Arizona is aready looking at LenDale. So much so that "LenDale in Glendale" is becoming a popular chant. My guess is that once he runs a decent 40 at the combine/individual workout, the kid goes top 10 easy. Interestingly enough though, DeAngelo Williams may slide a bit do to (lack) of height concerns. Williams could be interesting if he slips into the 20s.

So did JJ Arrington.
I don't want a midget. White or Addai are on my radar though.

I watched DeAngelo Williams' 230 yard performance in the Motor City Bowl. Memphis had a poor O-line. He was avoiding tackles in the backfield like Barry Sanders. Senior Bowl South coach Mike Nolan says he runs like a low-profile racecar. He has great balance and great vision. He had 34 100-yard games. That broke Archie Griffin's and Tony Dorsett's record of 33.

Bell needs to stronger. Hope he does some serious strenght conditioning this year with out losing any speed.
That said I hope Bobby Turner finds us another sweet RB in the later rounds again this year!

LenDale White, but Shanahan will never spend that kind of change/picks on ANY RB.

well why is it a dream this team is one dominate player away from a SB IMO !!! we could pick up a good DE in the FA and be set up !!I say give up these 2#1 and next years #1 and #2 and get that player !!!!!!!! and if we need to though in pryce, bell, pope, and a few other let do it !!!!!!!!!!!
I do not see us even looking at a RB until atleast the end of the 3rd with a compensatory pick. So forget DW, RB or LW.... Last time we had a chance to pick the TOP RB in the draft we passed on Stephan Jackson so we could get a LB and play him out of position.

Yea, ill add to that Bush had most of his come on one play. White was a beast out there that night as Texas had no answer for him.

Really? usually Shanny takes RB's in later rounds.
I think the kid from LSU Addaj sounds interesting. If you have insider they will have his profile up and also practice notes on him. He would be a very interesting 2nd round pick.

Portis and Bell were 2nd rounders. I just have a feeling that a lot DEs and Defense/Offensive Tackles will go early because everyone wants/needs line help. There are not many elite WRs (Hagans, Holmes, maybe Moss), so team will jump on the guys in the teens are . That forces a very good running back into the low 20s. Someone like White, Williams, Maroney will be sitting there, and Shanahan realize he needs some youth in the back field and goes out of his way to get it.

Calhoun! I want Calhoun!!!
He's a speedy RB, you can throw screens to him all day, you can line him up as a WR like they tried to do with Bell.
He ran in Wisconsin's system, which is much like Denver's, so he knows the stretch pretty well.
Let's do it.

I like White then D. Will then Marony. And i think if any of them slide to us we should grab one. I would take White or Williams with the #22 and wait till#29 for Marony.

White
DeAngelo Williams
But I think they will draft either:
Cedric Humes
DonTrell Moore ( I like this guy)....he would be a good back in Denver

Jarious Norwood, if he's not off the board in the top 100. w/o combine numbers, it's really impossible to guess. I've heard he's projected in the 3rd.

IMO, it ain't the QB. Elway was a great QB. He didn't take it all the way until he had TD, Zimmerman, Jones, Smith, McAffery and Sharpe.
Who does Jake have? Mike and Tatum are okay. Nobody will confuse them with TD. Lepsis and Foster are okay. But they aren't anywhere near Zimm and Jones. If an opposing team doubles up on Rod, there's no Eddie Mac to burn them. Let's face it, Lelie doesn't even know what YAC means and so far, the rest of the WR corps are filler. And you could combine every TE on this roster and they wouldn't add up to one Shannon Sharpe. Jake's like a guy going into a gunfight with one or two bullets in his Colt.

And he's got the aim of a drunk coming off a weekend bender (-:
But, I agree. Shanny's basic offensive premise, since TD and the Duke rode off, is to stretch the defense horizontally. That's why putz is serviceable. Deep strike is largely an illusion. Getting running lanes is the whole deal, and much as I admire MA, he can't bust em. He did early in the season, but he ran out of gas. Gotta get through the hole, and into the secondary before taking a hit.

The lack of Anderson's burst was one worse thing at the end of season. The holes were there but he couldn't get there. I wonder if was the fact that he hadn't carried the last couple of seasons and was tired, or the age factor. I know that he didn't get a lot of carries in college, but age really doesn't worry about that.
