It's Dallas Mavericks time, baby! After Dallas wins the NBA Championship, I'll get to follow our boys in Germany as the US National Soccer team takes on the World on the world's biggest stage in the worlds greatest sporting event: the World Cup.

Well, I think that we have a better shot at Italy than we do at the Czechs. We match up well with both of them though, so we have a chance to get through. Ghana wont be easy either. They were the top African team to qualify.

True that. Aren't the Czechs ranked 2nd??? I would just like to get that first win that should wake up the world!

I will watch my Twolves try and squeak in the playoffs. (doubtful)

I can't stand watching any sport but football really.

Baseball is a friggin' joke. It's like watching Kasperov vs. Deep Blue. What with 387.6 games during the season? It essentially renders individual games meaningless... same with basketball and hockey.

Uuuuggh! It's going to be a long, long offseason...

Yep...the Czech's are awesome. They'll probably win that group.
If the US can tie the Czechs and tie Italy, they can probably squeak by with a win v. Ghana. They will probably need a combination of either 2 wins and a loss or 2 ties and a win to get by.

It will be a monumental accomplishment if they just get out of the first round.

Well it is time for our team to show that we are real American bad a$$es, hey Angy do you play Adu or not? He had one hell of a move against Canada the other night but I don't think he will even see the field, that is if he even makes the trip

I can finally immerse myself in basketball. I love this time of year. Actually that makes it sound like I'm looking forward to the NFL season ending, which I'm not... It's just something new I suppose. I was deep into the NFL all fall/winter, and it's nice to change things up until the summer.

After the NBA Finals is when things get bad, summer sucks with no football or basketball.

I've seen Adu play up close. He is what they say he is. He's an unbelievable athlete with skills that US Soccer has never seen wearing red, white, and blue. He's a player with world class talent. He's the type of player that the top clubs drool over.

I saw him play a couple of times right after he turned 14. He was playing with the US U17 national team in a tournament against U19 professionals from Newcastle United, Tigres, and Deportivo Saprissa. One play sums up how he played consistently during the tourney. I was standing on the baseline by the opposition's goal. Adu takes the ball to the baseline down the left wing into the corner and is triple teamed by grown men that were nearly twice his height and were physically developed. Adu is fresh out of his13th year, mind you... Adu takes all three guys into the corner (with his back pinned at the corner flag), jukes one guy into diving at him from his right, touches the ball just out of his reach to his left, uses a body fake to get one of the other defenders to dive in, and then splits the two defenders closest to the line. All in a couple of seamless touches. He then blows past them down the baseline and fires a perfect knee-level cross just out of the keeper's reach that his one of his teammates shank wide. It was Pele-esque. He went on to abuse Newcastle United in the next game I saw.

Adu will probably be the greatest American player to don a uniform when it's all said and done.

I'm going to deaatach myself from sports for the most part for awhile, I'm actually pretty burnt out after the season that both the Broncos and Buckeyes had for me, and I'm going to start focusing on other things in my life and get everything situated there.

Just been noticing how much of a sports fan I am and how it's not such a good thing all of the time, so I'm taking a timeout on the sports stuff and just kind of lurk from afar about whats going on in the world of sports until I've got my **** together.

Then there's the summer, which is always busy with something every weekend. A few trips to Portland, a few trips to the coast, a trip to Vegas (party...oh yea!!) and maybe a trip or two to Seattle. I'm also training for two half marathons this year (one in June and one in October) and considering a duathlon in June two weeks after the half. ;D :strong:

Then it'll be about football time again! Time to plan some trips to Denver and one to Arizona!

Avs, I will follow the Crush, Spring Ball is just around the corner for college football, see how some of these recruits shape up, the Draft, maybe my Mets and Indians will get out there this year, and really try to get into shape, Football season and tailgating does more wear and tear on your health than most think, and of course it al occurs during the "fattest holidays" of the year. Oh yeah, Bronx 33 has to teach me how to fish, or at least teach me the proper technique.

My offseason, I'm picking up dog poo, and moving the veggie garden from the back yard to a side yard, and hopefully, getting a front bedroom cleared out so we can do our third remodel this house. we need to earn those points for next fall. This year 7 home games (I sold that joke game with Miami at year end) and 3 away games ( I get some bonus points back because I take the wife to the Miami game every year ( a blast!) and I need to build up points for next fall. I live in a 128 year old house (think Adams family) that always needs work . The good news is that it is on the Ocean (the name of the area in my town is called Crow Point (see my name) and it howls like a haunted house in a heavy wind. So I have a long list of house projects to begin when the weather gets warmer although I have already been assigned to repainting some rooms and I also coach my oldest (first grader) in youth basketball. The only tv I watch now is 24 until the Sox get going . Striped bass fishing when summer rolls around. Start building points for next fall !!
