Tis true, indeed! Thanks to all the folks that put the tailgate party together, clean up crew, photographers, Bronco supporters ("if you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter") ha, ha:strong:,etc. etc. Did someone mention BEER?:thought: Please give the credit to all the folks who, not only put the tailgate party together, cleaned up the after-party too. They also went out of their way to make EVERY stranger feel at home. I bow down to them. They opened their arms to me (and my beer! hahaha)..

Ok, shall we get started?

First of all, its good to be back home as I've seen more than my fair share of snow and Colorado cold now for the past two weeks. I cant wait to call my family and tell them I'm sitting on a beach next time it snows there ;)

Secondly, it was fantastic being back home again for both playoff games. I had the opportunity to finally meet alot of you crazy peeps, some for the first time. It never gets old running into my buds AK1971, Dumpy, TJ, Disco, Bronx, Crusher, Jake, Hatman, TailgateNut, Woody, Meck, Faith, Jester etc. But this time, I had the opportunity to meet some long-overdue pals from here at the Mane.

We'll start the day after the fantastic win over the Pats and one of the best tailgates I've ever seen. That Sunday morning, I watched the Steelers game along with the rest of Broncos nation and was in shock at the way the game was playing out. Before I even had a chance to absorb the game, I realized that I needed to get in contact with TJ. Thanks to Blueflame and her trusty timing with the phone, I was able to get back in touch with TJ and begin the planning of the following week. I knew right away that if we found a way to get that title game in Denver, that we had better plan our ticket aquisition asafp or we would miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime.

So, after a flurry of calls, and some well-timed planning, we were able to get our duckets for the game via Ticketmaster on the third level. Of course, Garcia Bronco had called me and left a message a mere 30 seconds before we got the tickets. Good thing too, since it was thisclose to us getting just the two tickets. So, duckets to the game of the year taken care of, next thing we had to do was arrange/rearrange flights.

I had decided to stay in Colorado after the Pats playoff game since I sadly enough had to be there for a friend's funeral (he had passed away the morning of the Patriots game). So, in the interm, I stuck around and got some beautiful shots of Colorado in the winter.

Only one problem... There was hardly any snow even in the high country!!

By Thursday, the Denver airwaves were buzzing with excitement. There were fan rallies all over town and I highly doubt anybody got anything done that week at work. Of course, even the local news stations were leading off their newscasts with Broncos talk and even the roadways had Broncos stuff all over them! While picking up TJ and Garcia Bronco from DIA, we encountered no less than 3 signs on the road stating "WELCOME TO BRONCOS COUNTRY" Needless to say, the entire state was geared up for a showdown on Sunday. More on Garcia, TJ and the road to Denver in a bit.

Friday morning, I had missed an opportunity to join Disco and AK1971 at the 850KOA studios (Die Clear Channel die!) where they were guests of the Colorado Morning News. But, I did get the chance to hear them burn a terrible towel and barbeque a burger or two heh.

By Saturday, I had the chance to meet and greet Garcia and took him via his request, over to Pier1 so that he could look at cinnamon candles and other metrosexual crud :rofl:
After that, we made our way back over to DIA and picked up TJ and then I whisked them off to Boulder where we got to view the Flatirons, Jon Bonet's murder house, Boulder, and then partake in many beers and all-you-can eat pizza over at Woody's Woodfire Pizza in Broomfield. Mmmmmm, hot-wing pizza and Fat Tire beer!!!!!!!!

Afterwards, we drove down to Disco's hangout "Legends" down off of Iliff and 225 where our fellow Bronco nuts AK1971, Dr. Disco and co. were also partaking in many beers and gearing up for the early morning tailgate. After dropping off TJ and Garcia over at an eerily quiet Meck's pad, I headed back to my bud's place back in Lafayette for some much needed sleep before the big tailgate...

Hopefully, next year, we can figure out a way for me to bring in a camera to the game itself so I can get some crowd shots. Until then, I guess I'll just have to settle for taking shots in the tailgates. Ah well...

And with that, my part of the trip ended. The game itself was about as hard to take in person as it must have been on TV. But, at least we had some great seats, and even managed to sit TJ and Garcia right next to my brother and I.

I THINK THE TAILGATTING PARTY IS AT THE POINT where you have all off season to plan, 5000 plus members and Maners trying to out do each other every game will make 2006 a great year for tailgatting maners and the team itself. We have great away crowds with this site up as I think more and more maners will make it a point to do the away games. San Diego is probably the best away game as we affectionatly call it MILE HIGH WEST. We had well over 50 tailgatters there and with Arizona nice and close, I hope we all can plan to make the 06 season the best tailgatting season! We might need two BUSES!
