Hey Guys,
I know this is not a huge need for our team, I love Plummer, and although I don't have the CSU blinders on with BVP I think he is okay. Not the future, however. What happens if Jay Cutler slips ala Aaron Rodgers of last years draft. I am not a Vandy fan and nor do I get a chance to watch them since I'm in Big 10 country. Does Denver consider this with the 22nd pick? We do have the luxury to take the best available on the board. Plummer is great and is someone I have grown to trust and admire. But in today's league, you always need someone waiting in the wings. OMar Jacobs from Bowling Green also impressed me. Just seeing everyones thoughts on taking a QB in the draft.

Culter will be a top 10 pick.

We did speak with all of the East team QBs at the Shrine game practices this week. Maybe we are considering a mid round investment.

So was Aaron Rodgers. But he fell, what happens if this guy falls in our lap?

I didn't view Rodgers as a sure top ten pick, top 15 would have been a safe bet going into the draft. Still I think there is a pretty damn good reason why he went into the draft, he believes he will be a top ten pick. JMO, and I have been wrong many times before. Hey SoCal, who is the QBs for the west? If Whitehurst is on there team then I believe he will be our man. After watching Jake play though this year QB isn't something I want to spend a low draft pick on.

OK - I just posted this on the other thread I read first:
"I really like Cutler, but there is no way he should be in the top 50 of this draft, let alone in the top five. I have seen him twice in person and several times on TV. He is very smart, has decent skills, but nothing exceptional. To tell the truth the guy he reminds me most of as a college QB is our own Gary Kubiak."
Maybe Cutler is this year's Boller - a guy who becomes a desperation pick. I do think the Broncs draft a QB someplace in this draft, but they won't do it in round one unless the unthinkable happens and Jake suffers a major injury before the season is over. There are 6-8 guys who should go in rounds 3-5, including Cutler. Broncs will probably grab someone there.

Nice take, Much appreciated, Like I said, I really haven't seen him play. But I can see him being a stellar player. I hope we get an athletic playmaker in the 3rd round or so. Any ideas about what kind of comp picks we will be receiving?

Herc is the man, but I think general concensus is three picks in rounds three - five.

cutler is a stud. almost beat UFA (took them to OT) and beat UT, for vandy. That's no easy task. He can make all the passes and is mobile enough. Good leader and seems to have a good understanding of the game. Unlike Boller who got to wing it down the filed all day, this guy actually plays QB. Boller's teacher has been in charge of quite a few busts.
