Anyone play online poker? How about people that play online for money?
I'm in a whirlwind right now, I've lost the last 4 tournaments out of the money, and get this, 3 of those 4 I've been beaten by full houses.
First time I got knocked out I also had a full house, but my opponent had a higher one. Then I hit the nut flush of spades(was holding A-K in my hand) and the 10 of spades on the river that gave me the flush also paired the board as the guy had a set of 8's, giving him the full boat.
Then I just played a Q-J unsuiyed, opponent had pocket 5's, and the damn flop came Q-Q-5, son of a bitch.
I'm online a lot at paradisepoker.com, they have a set-up with sportsbook.com so I can bet on sports and play cards with the same deposited money.
Anyone else play? Let me know how you're doing...
I play for real money at pacificpoker and for fun at hollywoodpoker with some guys from a fantasy football sight I post at. We played earlier tonight and I won. I do pretty well usually.

Play at Ultimate Bet.com. Had a good year :)
My worst beat this year was in a $20 sit-n-go. I had 4s and the flop came 5d, 6d, 4s. The bet was $200 to me I raised to $600 in case he was chasing a straight or flush but he called.
The turn was a Jackc, he checked, I went all-in (for about $1800). He thought for awhile and then called. Comes the river, 4d giving me 4-4s but he has 7d, 8d in the hole giving him a straight flush. Unreal!!!!

Ouch, that puts my nut flush giving him a full house to shame.
I also play at partypoker.com just for fun.

**** playing for money, I've taken too many bad beats to get up from this.
Again I hit the nut flush and a full house beats me...only online will those cards be flopped to **** someone over like that.

:) I don't know about Paradise but I would suspect it's the same for all. I play both live and online and I've found it works out the same. Online may seem different but's that's because you see so many more hands than playing live.

I play on Full Tilt and Bodog. I think the problem with NLHE is the overload on TV. People think they get anything suited and they go all in. I've been playing more Omaha and Stud or more high limit stuff, gets rid of some of the rediculous bad beats. Oh I had a Q high straight flush beat earlier this year.
You hear they are going to have a $50K buyin HORSE tourney at the WSOP this year? That ought to be pretty fun.

I used to play online but I got frustrated with it. The problem is, if you don't have the money to play for real, the people on there don't want to really play. What I mean is, if you're playing for fake money, the idiots just go all in every single time before the flop just to see if they get lucky. Obviously that wouldn't happen if we were playing for real money, but I spend all my disposable income on booze, tickets to the broncos and nuggets, and occasionally girls.
I've been playing more in real life hold 'em with my boys, which has been fun. I may do it on-line again, cards are fun.

Not to deviate from the topic, but does anybody bet on sports on-line? I've really had the itch to, and I may lay down some wagers if the Broncos make it to Detroit. I don't really have the money for that either, but my roomate has bugging me to do it... and I may, because I can usually do OK on picks against the spread and whatnot.

Thats how I got involved with poker online, sportsbook.com is an online betting site that I registered with to put money down on sporting events.
They are associated with paradise poker so I can use my same username at paradise and transfer funds between the two sites as well.
As for not having the money, 5 dollars is the minimum bets at sportsboook.com, that's it. You won't win a lot of money, but you can still play even with 5 bucks.

I don't play for money online....poker isn't just about making bets, it's abou reading people, and playing not only on the cards, but the person. For fun I play at party poker, and hubby plays at poker stars. We have a monthly money poker game we play at also.

I play online all the time, and do quite well for myself. Got my own site in the sig too! Play NL sometimes since it's the ''game to play'' right now, but I make the most playing short-handed limit hold 'em.

At least ya broke even anyhow. I came in 1st once, 2nd twice, third once and then lost a couple when I was getting a little too drunk a few days ago. :) I came out about 50 bucks up.

Nah kid nah. I average around $40/hr just playing 2 2/4 6max cash tables at a time. It's still where the most easy money is!

put 10 dollars down in a tourney and win 300...thats 30 to 1 odds...and I've won tourneys left and right...its way too easy...I dont like the fast paced game online...If im going to sit at a 2/4 table...I'll go to the Commerce here in LA...

I just got into a big 1200 person tournament that paid out the top 90, I finished 163rd because I had a K-Q and hit both of them on the flop, and some douche chip mother****er calls me with an ace high...and hits running aces on the turn and river to knock me out.
Thank God it was online, or else I would've knocked the table over and punched the person who called me right in the ****ing face.
**** these stupid ****s.

I'm still pissed about this...I hope this guy walks into the street and a car paints a bullseye on him going 60 MPH.

The best player in the world might average $30-40 return on their $10 buy-in, and MTTs usually last hours. Once someone learns to beat the cash tables, they'll consistently average that an hour, even at lower limits.
PS, nah kid nah is just a saying, nothing bad by it!

I've actually started liking limit poker quite a bit. I play up in the hills here in Colorado, and its not to hard to make $100-$200 in an afternoon (2/5). I used to have anything but NL, but if your patient, limit can be quite profitable.
