With Nalen close to retirement, I would imagine Hamilton will switch to C.
This means we really need to take at least a G in this year's draft.
Personally I think they will resign Lepsis, and with the rotation of Foster and Green at RT, I think a T is less likely, but still possible.
So, I thought I would start a thread devoted to OL prospects you would realistically like to see Denver pick up.
This guy looks interesting, and should probably stay on the boards a while, thoughts: http://http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/og/marksetterstrom.html

I am almost certain they will resign Lepsis.
Don't forget about Meyers as well as they have been impressed with him this year. I wouldn't pencil Hamilton in at center just yet.
Either way I want us to get Elsinger in the second and maybe setterstorm in the third. Both who fit our system like a dream. Unfortunately Atlanta, and now possibly the Packers who have stated they are switching to a zone blocking scheme, may have their eyes on them as well. Especially the packers who are rebuilding and lost two excellent guards this year.

I would like this guy for OG
Charles Spencer
Height: 6-5 | Weight: 330 | 40-Time: 5.15
Official Bio
Strengths:
Has great size and a large frame...Is an excellent athlete...Moves well and has good feet for a man of his dimensions...Is extremely strong and powerful...An outstanding run blocker...Shows flashes of dominance at times...Versatile with experience at both left guard and left tackle...Has a defensive players attitude and mindset...A team leader and hard worker...Still improving and has a lot of upside.
Weaknesses:
Needs to work on his technique and master the nuances of a single position...Did not have a great senior season when he was moved to tackle and struggled with speed rushers...Dealt with knee and shoulder injuries early in his career...Raw and needs development since he doesn't have a lot of experience on offense.
Notes:
Played defensive tackle his first two seasons at Pitt...Moved to the offensive side of the ball as a junior and really took to it...Could project to either guard or right tackle at the next level...Has the tools you look for and a lot of potential.
At OT I hope we can get
Marcus McNeill
Height: 6-9 | Weight: 338 | 40-Time: 4.97
Official Bio
Strengths:
A massive mountain of a man who is an imposing physical presence...Has a large frame with long arms, big hands and a wide base...Tremendous athlete for his size and has great feet...Moves laterally extremely well and it is not easy to get around him...Does a good job getting to the second level of defenders...Has good playing strength...Smart player with top intangibles who wants to get better...An all-around performer who is a major factor as both a run blocker and pass protector.
Weaknesses:
Will play too upright at times due to his height...Has some medical issues with his back and neck that will have to be cleared...Will get caught leaning...May lack a nasty demeanor and that killer instinct...Will get lazy and lose concentration at times...Needs to refine and become more consistent with his technique...Is not as explosive as you would expect a guy with his mass and dimensions to be.
Notes:
From a measurables standpoint this guy is off the charts and exactly what you look for in a stud tackle...Could project to either the left or right side as a pro...Experienced and has led the way for some great rushing attacks...You simply can't teach the type of size and athleticism this guy brings to the table.

This draft is flat out loaded with very good OL. Suspect Broncs have a couple that make the squad from this draft.

Longtimer, I think those guys are both too heavy.
There are only two guys on the OL that are over 300 pounds, (Green and Foster). It's probably not a co-incidence that they get platooned.

What is Chris Myers. In case you haven't noticed we are making a move to get bigger, still athletic, Linemen. They're out there. I don't think we take any OLINEMEN that is under 300. In fact I think guys we will take will be ~315 and up...

Myers, is still only listed at 300lbs.
Incidently, the lightest Steeler lineman is the centre at 299lb, the others are all over 300lbs.
Could well be a factor come the 4th quarter

Like it was against the Packers and everyother team we have faced right?
The main thing they look for is mobility. If they have the mobility to do what our system requires then they will like him regardless if they weigh 280 or 350.

It is not about weight, it is about athleticism to play in Denvers system. The reason Foster was platooned was due to nagging injureys. Denver's OL can no longer line up and get the 1 or 2 yards need for a TD by running the ball and just out muslcing the other DL. This is very true against the bigger athetic DT & DE because they can out muslce our OL and are just as athletic.
Foster is the new version of what a Denver Offensive lineman will be. The problem is that you can only get that type in the first round.
With more team going to the 3 4 defense it require massive athetic Offensive linemen to defeat it. you need a center that can handle the NT by him self and OG the can deal with the DE and also make it to the LB. A good example would be when the NFC won the supper bowls in the late 80 thru the early 90's. they had exactly that kind of OL's while the AFC ran primaryily the 3 4 defensive schemes.
Back in the 80 and 90 a OL or DL was consider massive if he was 300 LB but now that is considered under sized, It is time to get our OL personal updated to be able to stay as effective in the running game as in the past.
Remember superbowls are first won in the trenches!!!

i have no problem beating a dead horse...Eslinger AND Setterstrom. Both in a zone system and already have chemistry. Can be had in rounds 2 and 3 due to lack of bulk...but that worx perfectly for us since they are the size we covet. This allows us to address other needs in round 1 and still go after OUR best OL fits later on.

Size has nothing to do with it! Denver does not covet the smaller OL! Shanny said after he drafted Foster that he would like all his linemen with Fosters size & ability but those type you have to draft early in the first round and since denver rarely drafts early enough to get that kind of quality we make it work with other smaller linemen. Just because denver has made there running game work with what I consider sub par Ofensive Linemen that would not start on another teams OL. Just think what are running game could be like if we had linemen with the same mobility but at 330 LB with all muscle, not fat weight.
This draft seems to have this tye of lineman in it and they will be there when we pick just like when we drafted Foster. Shanny has a history of jumping on OL in the first round if they have great size and the needed mobility to accel in our system.
