That's awesome for the Jets. They dump a lame coach and pick up the hottest up-and-comer in the league... What a coup.

I think that I could go for that.

Great move. I think they need to give him a complete three to four years and not deep six him if he doesn't turn it around by then....

What a crazy division the AFC East has become. You have Bill Belichick and two of his clones running football teams.
Nick Saban used to be Belichick's defensive coordinator in Cleveland and they are best of friends.

Maybe the teams over there will start to challenge the patsies. They would deserve it.

I'm surprised nobody is willing to give Dick LeBeau another shot. I would definitely hire him over guys like Haslett or Martz.

I would sooo love to see Martz as an OC for Denver, but there would be too many phillisophical differences between him & Shanny. The dude knows how to work w/ QB's & WR's. He could really help Plummer take his game to that next level and maybe even help Watts become that wideout we've been looking for. But it'll never happen.

Agreed 100%. Each and every year teams interview the same candidates for their HC jobs. "Hey! Someone said so and so's a genius! If they're interviewing him, why don't we!"

Thankfully it will never happen.

Mangini accepts Jets Job.
Mangini assumes the position this coming season and fans are excited. Said Mangini "I've excited about getting jobbed by the Jets. I just hope they cut me the sweetheart deal they did for Herm if I decide to take over that perpetual Raiders coaching vacancy."

Good move by Mangini, i love to see guys like him move from the bottom to the top.
Now next year, can someone in that division plz give the PAts a challenge so we dont have that weak of a team in the playoffs again.

He should have waited another year for a better situation (NFC ?) and a little more seasoning. The Boston herald is reporting that it was Belichick who stepped in to take change of the defense later in year to move from Vanilla to more attacking and that an team insider has said that he wasn't a take charge guy in team meetings .Belichick told him to wait another year and that the money would still be there next year in a better situation. Specualtion there might be bad blood from this one.

Their body language on the sidelines never suggested there was any bad blood between them.
The best thing to come out of this for us is it frees up Heimerdinger.
It wouldn't surprise me if Shanny interviews both Mooch and Heimer after the Superbowl
