Is Vegas really that smart? We opened again as 3 point favorites again, surely people will be smart enough to put money on us this week:thumbsup:

Vegas made a lot of money yesterday!!! NO one had money on the Steelers and most had money on the Patsies. They don't care what the spread is as long as there is competitive betting. Makes the games look more exciting! Builds hype and brings more money through the sports book! Don't get me wrong, they do amazing analysis, but who in the hell ever knows how the game will turn out?

According to the Sagarin ratings
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/nfl05.htm
Denver Broncos = 31.80
Pittsburgh Steelers = 29.84
HOME ADVANTAGE= 3.51
Line should be Broncos -5.5

Home field advantage, sounds about right.
Denver's homefield advantage is 4 points, not 3. 3 points essentially means the Steelers are favored.

-5.5 is what my intial thought on what that line should be. I'll gladly take a win however it comes.

So I was thinking about the spread they gave Pats of 3 where it should have been at least 9.
So I have no problem with the Steelers/Broncos spread of 3 pts.
I wouldn't bet against the Broncos at Home, especially this season are you kidding!

We only won 14 games this year hence we are not that stong a team.
WTF!?!?

And two of those losses went down to the wire. Did anybody play more playoff teams than the Broncos this year? Pats twice, Jags, Giants, Skins...

I wish we weren't favored at all.

Denver Broncos = 31.80
Pittsburgh Steelers = 29.
Going by Sagarin ratings Seattle should only be a 1 point fav. I would agree with that if Deshaun Foster didn't break his ankle. I think the Spread of 4.5 is about right. I still think that the Panthers have a great chance in winning. Seatte's defense is still soft. They just haven't been exposed yet.

5.5 sounds about right to me. 4-5 points go to our home playoff crowd. These two teams are playing better than all other teams right now. Pittsburgh is in a zone too. Their playoffs started 6 weeks ago when they knew they had to win their last 4 to make the playoffs.
They try to set the line so equal action goes to both sides. Vegas isn't dumb, it's the people betting on the wrong team.

Winning Back to back road games is very hard. Winning 3 road games in a row is next to impossible in the NFL. Pittsburgh will have a hard time getting past the Indi game and focus on the Broncos. With them having to fly home from Ind and then fly to Denver this weekend is going to test them. If they beat Denver they will stomp whatever NFC team they will play.

Anybody know what the line was on the colts/steelers game?Im just wondering about that bs call on the interception if it was a call to keep game closer to save someone money on a bet.

The Polish Mafia has a huge presence in Indianapolis. Maronelli's life was threatened with a large kielbasa in a small place if he didn't overturn that call.

IMHO, it was the NFL trying to save Pay-a-ton a$$.

Scroll down on this and you can put certain teams AT Broncos. It also gives the odds of victory.

During the Pittsburgh game yesterday, people were speculating the spread should be 7. I expected it to be 4.
Pittsburgh is going back to the AFC Championship Game for the second straight season and they did go 15-1 last season. I don't think this is the Mark Malone/Walter Abercrombie team we dealt with a dozen years ago.

You know guys i had an article last week about us having the worst odds of beating indiannapolis.Im sure some of you remember it.w e were 30-1 to beat indy while new england was like 5-2.others were like 8-1,10-1,15-1.i couldnt believe that crap but now i believe they were right.Because we couldnt beat indy because they are sitting at home now.

I think it was the Bubby Brister/Merrill Hoge show that day. We got counter-treyed to death and were lucky to win that one.

I think it was Neil O'Donnell and Barry Foster. I was at the game. It was the only time I've seen the Broncos in Denver. It wasn't a close game, so we may be talking about different games.

I think it was the Neil O'Donnell - Erric Pegram backfield LOL .
Really, it was Bubby and Hoge that gave us fits in the 1989 Divisional Round, which we pulled out 24-23. Then we blew out the Browns before the 49ers launched a nuclear weapon on us.

maybe we can move it to Heinz field because they play worse at home. Ha!
Going to be a slug fest, the line is made just at home field advantage which essentially means they think the Steelers will win.
