View Full Version : Note: "Forgone Conclusion threads" go to the Butt...

The main discussion forum this week is going to be focused on the AFC Championship game. All threads discussing the Superbowl should be directed to the Horses Butt during this week, where those interested in talking about the Superbowl can do so until their hearts are content. If, indeed, we make it to the Superbowl like many of us expect, we'll have two weeks to discuss it. We only have one week to discuss the AFC Championship game, and that's the game in front of this team now.
Thanks for your cooperation.

Trying....to resist...temptation....
I have preached the one at time approach again and again...man the door has opened, we take care of business first at home.
This one is for the Hunt Trophy and the conference championship. If anyone thinks Pitt is going to simply bend over your crazy. That team is 7-2 on the road. This is the ultimate trap game.
I hope Shanny pulls out tape of the Jacksonville loss at home for at least a few minutes. That should sober them up! Ha!

Absolutely no predictions this week!
If you pick against the Broncos, you'll get flamed like BroncoBuff. If you talk about the Broncos making the Super Bowl, it's a foregone conclusion.
This board is confusing me.

So who do you think we play in teh Superbowl? Carolina or Seattle?
Id rather take Seattle. Less of a defense and we can handle Shaun.
Carolina kinda scared me.
Arkie

I think Carolina is better than Seattle right now.
Their defense is peaking. They are the first road playoff team to shut out their opponent.
Their offense is peaking. They scored 21 points at Soldier Field. The Bears allowed only 62 points at home in the regular season. (NFL record)

Steelers are easily the strongest opponent remaining.
The AFC championship IS the superbowl in my book.

I have to be honest - just like last week (although last week I shouldda kept my honest mouth SHUT!)
I can't see any factor favoring Pittsburgh. When they get here, they will have travelled TWICE since the Patriots game ended ... plus, we get an extra day ...
And they must be suffering some emotional strain ... that Indy game was a gut-wrencher from gun to gun. I think they'll be emotionally, mentally and physically drained.

Thanks for this T.J. RIGHT ON!
I think the Steelers is the best team on the boards and our home field advantage can be taken away in an instant if our guys blink.

Hopefully, the guys won't get caught up in the fact that the Steelers are the #6 seed. They are playing very well and we will still have to bring our A game to beat them...

Most certainly. You can count on it. Especially if said prognosticator heads over to the Steeler forums to capitulate in a public setting. And especially if that prognosticator doesn't have the character to start a crow thread to take their medicine when proven wrong .

Nobody told me I was supposed to start a thread, TJ, I wouldda done it. After all that silly drama with the bet with AlecRaenos, you know I'm not shy.
And I pm'd you TWICE saying I'm sorry for that stupid post of mine on the Pats board ... what more do you want? It was stupid, I shouldn't have done it.
BTW - Why don't you figure out whose alter-ego "BroncoLife" is? It's obviously a member here - for reasons I pm'd you ...

You know, I was thinking. We might be playing Carolina instead of Seattle.
Either way, I think we can handle both teams. Carolina relies far too heavily on the pass, especially the deep ball and without Davis or Foster, their running game is practically non-existant.
Seattle is more of a beast as Hassleback proved that he can pass on a pretty damn good defense even without the threat of Alexander back there and Alexander should be healthy in the Superbowl. Their defense is still lacking though and a good ball control offense should take Alexander out of the game and let us torture Hassleback with exotic blitzes ;D
Anyway, 3 Superbowl rings in 8 years or so, thats not bad.
