My favorite post......
am sorta pulling for the Steelers now. I hate the Broncos (being a former Browns fan, you can understand why) and the Steelers actually (with the glaring exception of Porter) have a somewhat classier team than they have in the past.
I have very close friends who are steelers fans, but they are close FRIENDS first. I am suppoting them now.
We got beat today. I cant begrudge a team that beat us honestly

You know they're actually handling it better than I expected. You should have read the stuff from before. They had no doubt in their minds that they were going to win the Super Bowl. I'm surprised that they are so responsive. I guess they're used to it.

Payaton, meet Marino. Marino, Payaton. All pass, no rings. I shouldn't be so mean to such a classy individual as Payaton. After all, like he pointed out, his pass protection was the problem.

Someone should get some cue cards or hand out pamphlets outside of the stadium in Indy to tell the fans that you're supposed to quiet down when your team has the ball. I remember Manning angrily trying to shush the crowd during the 2 point conversion attempt.....which they ended up getting called for a false start on. They converted it, but it was still funny that the Indy crowd didn't seem to realize that you're supposed to make it difficult on the opposing offense.

8. Peyton Shows His Naked Butt And Rectum.
We've long believed that Colts quarterback Peyton Manning is a big, bolted-neck phony. He says and does all the right things, for the most part, when the cameras are on and folks are watching. But it's our opinion that, in his heart, he's a spoiled brat who thinks he's better than everyone else.
Finally, he has given us something concrete on which to base these beliefs (apart from the allegations of Jamie Ann Naughright).
Actually, he gave us two.
The first one came late in the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the Steelers. Facing fourth and two from their own 36 and trailing 21-3, head coach Tony Dungy sent in the punt team.
And Manning sent them back.
It was one of the worst examples, in pro sports history, of disregard for the office of the head coach. Dungy is the head coach, for crying out loud. Manning is the quarterback.
Yeah, we know that most quarterbacks have the ability to call audibles. But that's part of the authority that the head coach specifically has delegated to the quarterback. No head coach ever has given the quarterback the power to decide whether to go for it on fourth down.
In this case, Manning showed that he regards himself as bigger than the coach -- and that's a big problem.
As one league insider explained to us on Sunday evening, too many players on that team genuinely love Dungy. And Manning blatantly violated Dungy's role. It could create serious problems in the locker room moving forward.
The second bit of evidence came after the game, when Manning tried to explain away his inability to get the passing game going by throwing his offensive linemen under the buffet table: "I'm trying to be a good teammate here. Let's just say we had some problems with protection."
Actually it was a slam on both the blockers and the coaching staff, since the coaches have a pretty big role in keeping the defenders out of the quarterback's face.
"This is on a new level," one league insider said. "This guy is a selfish SOB."
Amen.
Awwww, poor Manning. I'm sure Tags and the officiating crew had a nice hot bath and rub down ready to take away hurt.

Dungy said after the game that he told Maning Via headset to send the punt team off the field that they were going for it. So Peytoooon didn't just call that by himself like all the media is saying. Dungy made the call.

ALOT Dungy can't throw Payton under the bus or he will catch hell from Archie for callin out the ALL AMERICAN BOY. Payton wouldn't say anything about Edge cause he a gansta and might cut him; or call Harper's wife to do the job for him. WOOOO Learn to love it Broncomania is runnin wild in the streets.

Dungy has alot of class and i really feel sorry for him because he deserves a better team and a championship. How many coaches would take a loss the way he is with a smile.Bill belichek looked like his life was over pouting but dungy realizes that theres more to life than football.I really hope dungy retires and moves on to something else becauses hes too nice of a guy to put up with manning and losing playoff games.By the way im sure you all can realize now how selfish and how big of a fake peyton manning is.Brady blames theirselves for making mistakes and peyton blames his offensive line. You know his line made him throw ints and over throw receivers didnt you.

Not sure about awarding Dungy a "better" team. You look at Indy and they've got an all-pro RB, 2 all-pro WRs, a good OL, and a good QB.....why wouldn't they dominate every game? Because Dungy lets Manning run the show.
A coach that knows what he was doing would take all the audibles away from Manning for 3 weeks and just play football. I've always thought Manning had happy feet......but now he just looks lost sometimes out there. He's nowhere near as good as some have thought.
Also, on the defensive side of the ball, Indy has a very annoying habit of celebrating on nearly every play.....even if they aren't stopping the offense. I realize the Colts defense has been bad in years past, and is now better.....but can the BS and just play football. It's up to the HC to set the tone for the team, and Indy looks like a bunch of posers, rather than a team.

Rep.
How much class did Dungy show when the Colts were running up the score on the Broncos the past few years? If he had any balls he would have called off Manning instead of letting him do his thing and make himself look great even when the game was out of reach. Dungy may be a great defensive coach, but it's pretty obvious he's a one dimensional flawed coach and has done less with greater talent and easy schedules than most around the league.

The Colts fattened up on two weak divisions this year. (AFC South and NFC West) I'd like to see how they'd fare in our division year in and year out. And how many plays does Freeney run himself out of? The Steelers repeatedly screened and ran to his side.

Indy is a basketball town that stole their football team in the middle of the night.
There's an interesting thread there about the curse of the Colts. How Indy will never win anything until they change their name from the Colts, stop claiming they have guys in the Hall of Fame, etc. To paraphrase the guy said,
"Can you imagine the city of Baltimore trying to insinuate Jim Brown played for them or that we have an NFL championship from 1964, the last time the Browns franchise won a championship before 1999."

No doubt, I saw Freeney, on several obvious run downs, where he passed rush and used his patented "spin move" and completely removed himself from the play. It was hilarious! OVERRATED

Tony Dungy will never win the big one. He's just not the coach to do it.
He's great at building a team to a certain level. But he will never take them to that next level.
Tampa Bay would never have won a Superbowl, if Dungy stayed in Tampa...
Dungy will never win the Big One.
He IS the George Karl of the NFL...

That is why I picked Pitt to win. I honestly think it was idiotic to not allow his tope players to have meaningful time in the last 3 games of the season. In essence they went for 1 month without playing. Shanny kept his top players for a full half in the last game. He figured they could rest in their week off. Totally stupid.
PS, I really liked their explanation though "we practice really hard and fast, so we don't need no game time to be ready"

Indystar's message board must've crashed. Haven't been able to read anything from them today.
it's karma.
as long as the indianapolis cowsh*ts have the horseshow logo on their helmets, use the colors blue and white, and call themselves Colts, they'll have no success. just misery. the franchsie belonged to the fans of Baltimore long before those evil drunk Irsays got control of it and stole it away in the middle of the night.
to raise money for their stadium, they want to start issuing special license plates showing BALTIMORE Colts hall of famers. can you believe that? the mulletheads in indiana who tried to unretire those jerseys and who have nothing to do with the real Colts teams (and to whom the old Colts have nothing but contempt, with most adopting the Ravens as their team once Baltimore got a franchise back) trying to bask in that glory.

Indy realy does have poor fans (not all but alot). When I went up to Indy for the Bronc/Indy (not the play off game. It was reg season.) game 2 years ago a fan sitting 2 rows back had a L.A. Colts shirt on. After we started kicken the hell out of em he started to realy yell that they should move.

Actually, no, but it was the first time I actually sat and concentrated on his play solely for several plays. I distinctly remember him doing one of his spin moves over and over trying to get past the tackle. He looked like a friggin ballerina, he must have been dizzy after that!
