BroncoBuff should have gotten better treatment than he got this week. I saw his prediction, but it was probably made out of a healthy respect for the Patriots. They are current back-to-back Super Bowl Champions. Frankly, this game made ME nervous, given the run the Patriots had in the playoffs...

Unless we are communists Buff can be as chicken**** as he wants to be.
Honesty is one of the few things in life you shouldn't get upset about. He was trying to be honest. He wasn't trying to be a jerk.
This is partially why I'm like Jake more and more. Here he is bringing a huge win to Denver going to a press conference bare footed. Why not? They didn't respect him. Why should he respect them? Let me give them something else to talk about.
I don't think the Broncos fans believe the Broncos have a prayer of beating the Colts. If you want to call out Chicken****s why don't you call out the newly converted Steeler fans. They should all rot in Bronco-hell.

I still can't believe that any Broncos fan would pick against the Broncos at home this year. There is nothing that I can point to that would justify picking against Denver at home at this point. I could understand if it was on the road... But we've been nails at home, and that useless "Belichick has never lost to an opponent he's played twice in a season" sure didn't help Shanahan against the Colts when he had that going in his favor a couple of years ago. Why should it stand firm with Belichick?
Bottom line: Denver is the better team. Vegas knew it. Every Broncos fan should have too.

This was a conspiracy. They had to knock off the Patriots to virtually insure Peyton's ascension to the throne. Broncos were pawns. The league wants Manning and it's against league rules for us to win the next game. Swear all fealty to Lord Manning Patriot fans! We are just pawns in the chess game of the NFL. It is the Manning that does aide and comfort us. All Hail!

BANDWAGON FAN?! That's EXACTLY what I have a problem with, Ray! Just because I make an honest prediction that we might lose to the 2-time defdending SB champs ... suddenly I'm a Bandwagon fan?!?!
I was 9 years old in 1971 when Pete Liske came to my school to speak - Holy Trinity Elementary on 74th and Federal in Westminster - and talked to me and my brother and my dad. I was already a Broncos fan before that, but since that day it's been a total obsession. Probably identical to 99% of the users here. I was crying over losses in 1969 when we were 4-9-1 and Hank Stram had to stifle his laughter when giving a pre-game interview to Bob Martin, "... the Broncos are a tough team." I know NOW he was laughing inside. But THEN I believed it. I was a Broncos fan when Broncos fans weren't cool. Before John Ralston.
So now - to be a fan here - suddenly I have to forget my brain and PREDICT something I don't really think is going to happen? I truly had no idea people would be so pissed.
Nobody here actually thinks our predictions have any effect on the GAME, do they? Well I think they might. I was called lots of names - mostly by the boss here Taco John - and his alter ego BroncLife. Is this really some kind of conformity test? Aren't we Americans, after all? Or communists?

So, you're predicting 16-0 every year? Is there even another true fan on this board besides yourself. SoCal is one of the biggest Denver fan around here. He predicted a 7-9 finish. I think Broncobuff had more respect for the Patriots than the rest of us, but changed his mind even though he thought the Patriots could beat all the other 30 teams on the road. I think they probably could too. Den/NE should have been the AFC Championship game if Cincy had beat Pitt.

I dont know if they are so much pissed he picked the Pats as in the way he did it. 31-20? thats a bit much even for a home game for Denver. Even if the Pats would have won it would have been much closer than that. I think when you predict something like that you arent giving your team any credit whatsoever. Like i said, i was really unsure about this game cause i knew the Pats would bring it but i also knew that the Broncos were 8-0 at home coming into the game. And that was for a reason cause Denver plays so much better at home than on the road.

Come on, that's no choice at all!
Gonorrhea responds to simple treatment, a single dose of a narrow-spectrum antibiotic like ofloxacin or levofloxacin will usually do the trick.
But Herpes on the other hand - whoa, boy! That's a different story! Herpes is a chronic and recurring condition which can lead to sterility and ... OOPS! I've said too much!

REP! I NEVER bet against the Broncos because I don't want to EVER see them lose. I'm a homer that way. But their are plenty of games (not many this year) when I really don't expect them to win, if I actually look at where the game is and who we are playing. I always HOPE for a win.
The NE game had me very nervous, and I thought we COULD have lost. Champs pick Changed the outcome of the game. Minus that I think we probably would have lost as NE would have gone up on us 13-10. He saved the game last night, and the season in the 2nd game of the year. One partial second later, or one step off and we have a different game. The football gods have smiled on us this year.
We MADE our own luck, mostly, but it also requires good fortune. Picking the Pats to win isn't a sin...just a mistake. :peace:

Some of you should try it, Taco John ... I mean, er ... BroncLife!
Agreed, Buff.....but perhaps it was YOU that was too "emotional". Perhaps, getting caught up in the media love fest over New England??
Whereas "intellect" may have told you that 1) we are hard to beat at home, 2) Shanny has a great record vs. BB, 3) we have a GREAT run-D and run-O...etc. My point is, all the facts and figures throughout the season pointed to a DENVER win....not a New England win. So perhaps it WAS the "intellectual" man that picked the Broncos, and the "emotional" man that picked the Patriots.
All that having been said, you are right....you don't HAVE to pick the Broncos to enjoy them winning, and I agree that there is "head" thinking and "heart" thinking......but as I said, it wasn't just the "emotional" Bronco fans that thought they would win......it was the "intellectual" ones as well.....well, except for you, of course.
Anyway, don't take this post as a Buff-bashing.....on the contrary, I enjoy your posts, as many are thoughtful and insightful.....

Some of the insults and smack against BroncoBuff in this thread is so pathetic it actually makes him look good in comparison, and that's saying something. He should have been reduced to weak excuses and requests of forgiveness two pages ago.

As usual Mr. Bowlen is correct.

The main problem with BroncoBuff isn't that he spoke his mind and picked against the team, but that he's simply annoying as hell. The fact that he lacks faith in the Broncos is just icing on the cake.

No matter how you feel, JUST GO WITH YOUR TEAM! :pity: :cuss:

I know for a fact that there were several "nervous" fans leading up to this week. I know of very few that would have actually openly predicted a Broncos loss, but they were certainly thinking it. Balsy prediction BB but you were just saying what you felt. Nothing wrong with that (unless you pick against the BRONCOS and end up being wrong!!):poke:

Agree - we do have at least some freedom of speech here. I know I predicted before the season that it would be Indy and the Panthers in the Super Bowl and I think most of the prediction pages were filled with 8-8 to 10-6 predictions for the Broncs.
BBs style can be annoying at times, but nothing wrong with his content.
BTW - Broncs kick the Panthers' A33 in Detroit.

Awww, Buff really took a beating here. Take an easy, fellas. Nothing more to see here, carry on here.
Hey, man, on a intellectual level, it's easy to see where you were at early on in the week. But as for the beer-loving, moves-furniture-for-a-living side of me, forget it. You don't call a defeat amongst the true faithful during divisional playoff week. At home, nonetheless! Bring that snooty attitude and doomsday foreseer crap under the vice of a true fan to some blue-collar bar in Denver and see where it takes you.

**** Buff.
I should have made his ass live up to his stupid ****ing bet. Worst poster on this board.
So much anger! I think it's because I correct you so often ... but I'm just trying to help you!:

(BTW - the post below that one proves I bet "ratio", which means I didn't actually lose. I was just being a good sport.)
But actually I understand your anger. It must be tough for a self-important person like yourself to be confronted with somebody smarter ... I'm sorry for that. Check your phonebook, Alec, there might be a local chapter of "Hater's Anonymous" you can go to ... they can help.

I don't mind covering your backside Buff but the next time you wander into a mine field you might want to take note that when someone is tossing big heavy rocks that it is for a reason.
This is a fantastic post. I approve.
