View Full Version : Tired of the excuses coming out of NE

I'm getting tired of all the excuses made for the Pats over that butt whippin' the Broncos put on them. They flat out got beat by a better team. I don't think this Pats team is much better than they were earlier in the season. They lost to just about every good team, then got fat off a horrible AFC East. The only decent team in that division other than the Pats was the Dolphins, but the Pats were able to aviod them until the final week of the season. By then they had gotten fat off the Jets and Bills.

I can't wait for this game to start, and shut the national media up. This isn't the Pats team from years before. They aren't as good. That's one reason why this game is in Mile High, and not NE. The other reason is because the Broncos are a very good football team and earned it.

Didn't Denver get spanked by Miami?NE's 2nd and 3d stringers lost to Miami in wk 17 by 2 pts.Just facts,no excuses.

It helps when you see the Jets and Bills twice.

Didnt we shut out the Jets 27-0? I believe that we played a sub-par game and still held them to 12 yards rushing.

How about you forget the stats, forget the teams they played and just check out the damn roster from that game up until now... If you dont see an improvement, then you are blind.

This will probably be a 24-21 type game, it should be close and I think the Pats luck will run out, as it is hard to win playoff games in Denver. If this game is a blowout, it will be the Broncos blowing the Pats out, I seriously doubt the Pats have the tools to blow Denver out.

What's that game have to do with anything?

The Pats got spanked by the Bills week one a couple years back, 31-0. The Pats went on to go 14-2, beat the Bills week 17 31-0, and win the Super Bowl. The Bills ended up 4-12.

So why are you even bringing up that game?

If you are trying to use the "if team a beats team b, and team b beats team c, then team a should be team c" theory, that's been proven many times that it doesn't work. The matchups are different. And one game was week one, the other week 17.

Really thinking about it, that was a really dumb post.

Don't worry about it, HE learned football by watching MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL and listening to what JOHN MADDEN told him...

Under that logic, we beat SD twice, while New England got crushed at home by the Chargers...but hey, we have no chance today...

It has as much to do with it as NE's 1st trip to Denver. You said that NE lost to a better team and on that day it is a correct statement.Denver lost to a better team in week one.You are the one bringing up irrelevent games. All that matters is which team executes tonight.

But.but.but, Tom Brady is pretty, and Tedy overcame a stroke. We just gotta win the SB now...........................:spit:

Every single matchup in this game we are better. We should really domiante this Pats team! I think it will be close, but the better team always wins in the playoffs:thumbsup:

A head to head matchup means a lot more than bringing a third team into this. If we go by your logic, the Dolphins should have beat the Chiefs by 50 points. The Dolphins beat the Broncos pretty bad. The Broncos then blew out the Chiefs a few weeks later. So shouldn't the Dolphins have killed the Chiefs? By your logic yes. But that theory doesn't work. The Chiefs killed the Dolphins. So your point is still dumb. That Dolphin game doesn't help your argument.

The Pats were a great team a couple years back. They just fell out the gates. The Bills got lucky. This Pats team isn't great. I'd say above average judging from the regular season. This Bronco team is very good, and I don't see much difference between these teams since they played the first time. The Pats shined up their record by beating a bunch of bad teams, but they still aren't much better than the first time these teams met.

Pretty much thier only argument is that they have played very well to close out the season.

And we have CRUSHED that argument!

When you play below average teams (very bad teams in the East) yoy should get on a little roll going into the playoffs.

I will give them the Jags win, but in the 2nd half the JAgs basically gave up, and went away from their gameplan.

7-3 was the score and the Jags forgot that they have a couple of VERY good Rb's. Being one dimensional wont win you football games.

Yes, you do. every single Patriots fan has thought at some point this season, of only we had bruschi in, or only if we still had ty law. Problem is, neither player can or will help you today. Denver is the healthier, and better team.

If you are trying to use the "if team a beats team b, and team b beats team c, then team a should be team c" theory,

Just go off of the Team A beat Team B theory with A being Denver and B being New England. Much simpler.

How about looking up how many points denver gave up compared to new england at end too.

terry251973
01-14-2006, 12:48 PM
Okay looked it up and i think you will see that new englands defense is playing better but they are not better than denvers defense in points allowed .
LAST 8 GAMES PATS ALLOWED 118 DENVER 106
LAST 7 GAMES PATS ALLOWED 102 DENVER 89
LAST 6 GAMES PATS ALLOWED 85 DENVER 89
LAST 5 GAMES PATS ALLOWED 59 DENVER 68
LAST 4 GAMES PATS ALLOWED 56 DENVER 37
SO I DONT KNOW WHAT ALL THAT MEANS TONIGHT BUT I DONT SEE THE PATS DEFENSE AS BETTER.

NOT necessarily that the Pats defense is better than the Denver defense....

I agree.I just think alot of people underestimate our offense. From what i have read and heard is that the pats key to winning is shutting down the broncos run game.Sorry but i dont think that will happen especially in denver. In denvers running game the receivers and tightends block as well and for years every team in the nfl has tried to shut down the running game and most have failed except the ravens especially but they have something on us for some unknown reason. We match up really well against the pats anytime much less in a year where we are playing our best since 98.The colts on the otherhand have our number but maybe this year will be different.

Ouch!

Remember Jagwads 96? The Team that PLAYS better USUALLY wins, especially in the playoffs.

The difference this year is no one is discounting the Patriots, including the players. In fact the team has heard all week how they were lucky to catch the Patriots banged up and this is NOT that team. Bull****e!

We were better in October, and we are PROBABLY better now. If we play OUR game (get a 10 point LEAD) we will win tonight. NE is a better team than they were in October, but we also are better than October.....no matter what the Media clowns say, NE will have to be PERFECT to beat us. We have to LIMIT mistakes. I don't think NE can be perfect.
Good Luck to both teams and may the winner beat the crap out of Indy, if thats who wins tomorrow!

I think we can all agree that whoever wins tonight would want the Steelers to win tomorrow so it's a home game AFC Championship.

"The PI Call counts for 10 points".

"That interception was just luck"

"That fumble was a mistake that we gave you"

"If we had played our best, you guys would have lost."

"You didn't actually win, we gave the game away."
