The bookies KNOW who should win this game. Trust me. This is not shocking at all. They stand to make a mint if the Broncos win, and they believe they will...dman

Yeah, but that is such a crazy number to see!

I found another link to back up the 65% on the Pats side:

http://www.wagerline.com/Handicapping/ConsensusPick/consensus-pick.aspx?sport=NFL&eventID=21867&sportID=1&contID=4448

If there's really that much $$ on the Pats side and the line isn't moving... ;)

Vegas is rich for one reason. People always pick the wrong team. Makes me feel better.

That's the percentage of wagers placed, not the actual handle. Which means a larger percentage of small bets are on New England. That means the public likes the defending champs. The syndicates and professional gamblers must be all over Denver, or the number would have moved down by now.

Look at the link in the first post I made...it shows % of bets and % of total $$.

That cant be correct. If 99% was on one side the # would move like crazy. No???

dammit, I really don't bet. I play the stock market, but .... only conservately with mostly mutual funds not tied to equities.

So, you're saying that when the Broncos win, it will leave a lot of little old ladies in Boston out on the streets? Those little old ladies will bet for Tommy Terrific any day!!! If they weren't doing it all by computer transfer, that Eastern money moving to Vegas would take a large C-130 to move it all.

Go Bronocs!!!

that is it.
this wk is a big $ wk in the football betting world.
w/ the home team winning 80+% of the time since the playoff format has had 2 byes per conf.
smart and large money is on the home teams.

a small gamblers note is that for all NFL teams but, denver, homefield advantage in terms of spread is 3 pts for denver it is 4.
if this game was on a nuetral field the pats would be -1.

That just means 99% of the bettors are taking New England at +135 on the money line.

If 99% of the actual handle was on New England, they would be the favorites by now.

I appreciate the link, Jens, but I have over 200 sportsbooks within driving distance of my house, so I never have any reason to bet online.

I emailed NF and all he had to say to me about the game was

"all we can do is play our best. were prepared".

Quiet confidence is the vibe I am getting, and my friends who know the players say the same. I think we are gonna play with a ton of energy, yet remain poised enough to rout these bastards and put this dynasty to rest.
